  1. Tracking down rattling/clicking

I don't know if you are running any exhaust mod either but check where the exhaust pipe goes around the rear sway bar. It's common for them to hit there as well. Another idea is get a rag and grab the tailpipe and move it around while the noise is happening. If you can get it to stop you know...
  2. Friend wants to buy a jeep to drive on the sand

Saw the same thing in Moab vs. Ouray... it's elevation. 95 degrees in Moab and I'm running like 195-200 in oil and tranny. 55 degrees in Ouray at over 10k feet and I'm up at a steady 220 with the fan a ripping. The 3.6L engine no likey high altitudes... lol.
  3. Friend wants to buy a jeep to drive on the sand

Pfffft.... EVERYONE knows that ONLY the Rubicon was designed for ANYTHING off pavement. You are seriously taking your life into your own hands if you take a Sport or Sahara off road. The dealer should have told your "friend" this.
  4. QTDDTOT: Questions that don't deserve their own thread

My bad... when you said 4HI I was thinking of traditional 4HI not Select Trac. That is more akin to an all wheel drive at that point and does have all the slip in place to handle dry pavement driving at highway speeds obviously. I was thinking what guy would throw it into 4HI and rip 70MPH on...
  5. QTDDTOT: Questions that don't deserve their own thread

You can but I would question under what conditions you need to be in 4HI and still doing 70MPH in a Jeep. The only time I've used 4HI on the open road where during snow and heavy rain and never came close to doing 70MPH in those situations.
  6. What happens when the axle lock sensor fails?

Unplug the connector from the rear axle to make sure it doesn't flake out on you. Contact @JeepCares to explain this BS you are dealing with after only 600 miles and they will get you into a dealership that knows what is going on. If your dealer has never heard of this issue by now I'm guessing...
  7. Clicking noise when turning.

The turn the engine on in the video but you can also do it with the engine off, I'd try it both ways. What torque did you have the wrench set too? Mine were extremely loose and actually clicked while I was tightening them and I just tightened them until they stopped clicking. Check you track...
  8. Clicking noise when turning.

Put your finger or thumb across all the joints like the draglink and tie rod joints and feel for movement while she turns the wheel. YouTube has videos of what I'm talking about. Also what do you mean by the castle nuts were good? Did you pull the cotter pin, put a wrench on them and try to turn...
  9. California MotoBilt rear bumper

    Mmmmmmmm... me miss the BoJangles
  10. QTDDTOT: Questions that don't deserve their own thread

Never heard of that. I've been leaving the key in the Jeeps for days on end with no issue.
  11. Teraflex Track Bars, Who’s had no issue on your JL?

Yeah all three bars had that play in them. I always found it very odd but I get why it is there. It does not allow side to side movement but allows rotation of the bushing as the axle travels up and down. I chalked it up to TF spin on how they wanted the bushings and TB to function. After the...
  12. Teraflex Track Bars, Who’s had no issue on your JL?

As @chevymitchell noted I've had the joy of going through 3 TF trackbars and finally got my money back and bought a Steer Smarts HD one and could feel the difference. When the TF first came out they had bushing problems almost immediately and made noise. TF replaced those with a new bushing...
  13. Guess what? You can snap a lower control arm in half and not even know it.

WOW! Nope, just going to stick a stock one back on. This Jeep has been wheeled so hard and performed so well with stock arms I'm good with just putting another one back on. Plus I've been spending $$ and still have other things that need buying so I'll just stick with what I got.
  14. North Carolina Roll Call

Couple more vids from today. My friend Steve rode shot gun and I don't think myself, my son and him ever laughed so much on a trail. His commentary in the vids is a riot, I had asked the question if I was going to struggle on this one obstacle because I was stick and the guy said "Well it...
  15. North Carolina Roll Call

Here's a gnarly little obstacle on the end of Risky Biz in Sand Hollow that was fun. JK control arm doing well... lol.
  16. Guess what? You can snap a lower control arm in half and not even know it.

It's a head scratcher for sure. I will def check out the spot next time I'm on the trail. I was too pissed to investigate in the moment.
  17. Guess what? You can snap a lower control arm in half and not even know it.

LOL! Well I don't feel so awesome but it happens. At least I could drive it off the trail and wheel it today. Think I'm going to wheel with the JK arm on it since I'm pressed for time.
  18. Guess what? You can snap a lower control arm in half and not even know it.

Momma didn't raise no sissy... lol. I'll leave the Mall Crawling for you east coasters ;)

  20. Guess what? You can snap a lower control arm in half and not even know it.

Was out on West Rim trail in Sand Hollow doing Toll Booth #1. I have done this obstacle multiple times without incident and this time I was doing it a tiny bit different and was crawling when I should have been a little more on the skinny pedal. All I can figure that happened is I bumped and...
