I am happy across the board with what I did and did not get.
1. Cold Weather Group is a winner. Agree with other posts with top and doors off a nice warm seat an a cool evening or morning is really nice, even if you don't live somewhere cold...
2. The Tow group (primarily for Aux switches) is...
Well after 8 months of research, emailing and calling suspension companies, sifting through forums, watching YouTube videos, talking to installers, and doing more pages of suspension math and notes than I care to admit, I finally made a call and ordered a Clayton Diesel Overland+ 2.5"...
I figured I would take a few minutes and provide a quick recap of the build so far. I have entries for many of the things I have done, but also multiple upgrades that have not ended in an entry in the build journal.
So, to date this is what I have done:
Wheels: Method 701
Tires: 35x12.5x17...
Another minor addition I put in over the last couple months. Two Molle Platform Solutions (MPS) molle panels. One rear overhead and one driver's side panel for the back. They were really easy to install. The most difficult item was needing to unbolt and slide the hardtop back about 3 inches...
So no Jeep comments, but some destination suggestions. I have been down running around that area a bit on a Baja 1000 team and for fun. My favorite drive is down Hwy 5 from San Felipe to Chapala (where Hwy 5 rejoins Hwy 1). I took that route down to Mulege about 15 years ago to spend a week...
Completed work a bit early today, so figured I would tackle another electrical project. The Roam bumpers come with cutouts for sensors. I very specifically did not get the safety/assistance package with my JLURD...so I had no sensors to mount. The result was 4 sensor holes in the back bumper...
Well, it has been a while. Just completing a pretty crazy 3-months at work. I haven't had time to do much on the JL and zero time to post anything. However, to keep myself sane I have been puttering a bit and have accomplished a few things.
I pulled a set of old Baja Designs Fuego HIDs off...
So I will provide a little bit different perspective.
My recommendation go with the 35's...I am assuming including new wheels. Here is why. Your new Rubi take-off tires and wheels will sell for between $1000 and $1300. That is if they have very very low miles...like still have the little...
Thanks and please do...if you get the same decal, you have to cut the words off and place them separately from the graphic. I just pretended I was writing and figured out what angle I would have written the words...then applied the decal there.
From Amazon. Cut the words off and put them on at the angle you see.

Yes, that is it. It is a wonderful drive that i was recommending as a route coming back from or going to Glacier. There are a couple short dirt side roads...and if snowing (which can happen any time of the year) it becomes very much a 4wd only road...until it gets closed. However in good...
I had a situation very much like your example 1. I was coming back to Minot from Winnipeg a few years ago in my well set-up '03 Ram CTD. Weather was awful, ground blizzards w/near white out conditions, solid ice on the road, ambient temp was about -30F with a 30 - 40mph wind...so wind chill...
Yup, same for me. Best price I could find in the country and easiest buying experience. Funny thing is I bought my 2003 Ram CTD there as well while I was stationed at Mountain Home. I had totally forgotten it was that dealership until I drove in to get the Jeep.
yes factory tow package.
Thanks. I think I am going to put together a little spreadsheet later this week to capture what we are figuring out here. I have spent lots of time looking and I can't find this level of detail anywhere else online.
No. Factory plastic bumpers.
That is it...I thought somebody who came in around 5040 had plastic as well. So 4960lbs for plastic...do you have the tow package?
When you pass through Yellowstone do not miss the opportunity to go over the Beartooth Hwy/Pass. This is my single favorite drive I have ever done. I just took my kids over it last summer on the way back from picking up my JLURD in Idaho. They are still talking about it. My kids thought...
