  1. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Not a kit, at least in my case. I had to wait about an extra week for the bolts to arrive.
  2. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Exactly the same for me after the TSB. I hate it and am ready to sell the thing.
  3. Poll: Did TSB 08-074-20 Fix Your Steering Issues?

Mine had a bit but not too bad. Others have experienced a lot. See this thread: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/new-steering-box-why-all-this-fluid.68223/
  4. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Cool. Definitely be interesting to see how it works if you install it. Thanks for posting your experience.
  5. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Good to hear. Was there much resistance in turning the hex bolt? I've read that some boxes were loctited and very difficult to turn.
  6. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Ah, gotcha. I hadn't looked that closely but it wasn't obvious when I looked earlier.
  7. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I have that suspicion as well. Mine has been replaced and spent nearly two weeks at the shop throughout the entire ordeal. It tracks well and doesn't wander but the dead spot is there and very noticeable. FCA told my shop it's within tolerance so they can't/won't do anything else. I'd like to...
  8. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Same thing on mine. I had it back in this week to diagnose further. They had a senior tech work on it and opened a Star case and worked with FCA. They even swapped wheels/tires with a stock rig to rule out my oversize tires (37") and the problem still existed. In the end FCA said it was within...
  9. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Thanks for the response. I have a Yeti tie rod installed and did have a yeti track bar but they were partially blaming the "aftermarket" track bar so they installed a factory one. Drag link is the one I haven't replaced yet. I even have the Synergy track bar brace. Depending on how my visit...
  10. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

The EHPS was supposedly the first thing they did after I brought it back in. They didn't add the code until after the tech did the flash and thought he was done. If I hadn't asked to see the options report/screen, they wouldn't have done it. It's so annoying when the TSB is clear as a bell with...
  11. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

After months of waiting, I finally got the new steering box installed along with a new track bar. Tracking is very good now and doesn't seem to be wandering, however, the dead spot is still there. I went back and check on the 70F update (as indicated earlier in this thread) and they had not done...
  12. Torn between RE spacer lift + shocks vs Teraflex suspension lift kits

Hi. At the time of these pics there was no lift or spacers. No rubbing. The wheels are 17x8.5 with +6 offset/4.99 backspace. Factory wheels are +40 or 44, I think, so the lower offset helped the tires to not rub...
  13. Home made camper trailer

Great job! Just followed your IG page. Do you have a build thread anywhere? I’m building my own and am not above stealing ideas  Yours looks to have features I want on mine.
  14. Any issues with running 4.88s on 35s?

Yes, both did but the 5.13 being weaker was probably the biggest factor. Of course, after I already had the work done I read that the strength difference between the two is really minor, at least for the JL. I guess the 5.38 is where the weaker pinion comes into play. I’m not unhappy with my...
  15. Any issues with running 4.88s on 35s?

I have 37s on 4.88 on a 2.0l. It runs great and holds 8th gear even on small inclines and accelerates nicely. I would probably go 5.13 if I did it again just to be even better but I have no regrets. I realize this is a mostly 3.6l forum, so my choice is probably irrelevant :bandit:
  16. Yeti coolers at Sport Check or Atmosphere.

I have that Costway. It’s been great so far. Recently used it on a trip to Ouray and Moab. So nice to not deal with ice and have plenty of cold food and drink to eat while on the trails. Even the boss is onboard with it now. I use a Jackery 240 to power it. I have two of them so switch when...
  17. TrailRecon spotted last Saturday outside of Silverton, CO

LOL. No kidding. A lot of butthurt in some of the comments. Don't like it, move on. I agree with almost everything you posted and have the same feelings about those channels. There are a number of them I still subscribe to but rarely watch unless the topic looks interesting. I watch YT more...

  19. Alpine Loop out of Ouray, CO

Great list! We are leaving this morning. Didn't get to hit a lot of trails but enough to have an absolute blast and start planning for another trip. The Mrs isn't really into wheeling so she had her fill of shelf roads and obstacles. I'll probably come back with a group next time. We were solo...
  20. STING GRAY Wrangler JL Club

Sorry for the delayed response. Been traveling. 295/75/17, which equates to 34.4". They are BFG KM3. I don't have them anymore but I think they actually measured about 33.5 or so on the vehicle.
