  1. DIY Gear Swap - Step by Step Pic's - Rubicon 4.88

Sounds like you had about the same experience I did. The rear in my Jeep was a circus. I don't know what I was thinking on the crush sleeve, it definitely comes out with the pinion, not out the front. Hope you enjoy the gears, I'm enjoying mine!
  2. DIY Gear Swap - Step by Step Pic's - Rubicon 4.88

I used a $10 hot plate from Walmart to heat the pinion bearing, without even cooling the pinion it fell right on. The small side carrier bearing was a different story. I heated it the same way, but it wasnt even close to sliding on, required pressing with one of those gantry type bearing...

  4. ODB Jscan available for JL

I assume this will allow axle ratio adjustment? I haven't seen it specifically mentioned anywhere. And how bout swaybar disconnect in 2wd, as well as higher speeds? Thanks!
  5. FS: Married Tazer JL Mini

I will do $200 including shipping if that works for you? I'd almost just like you to ship it to get unmarried and they can ship it to me when they're done. Thanks!
  6. Knock in rear with Dana 44

Interesting. I just read one post where a guy said it made the problem much more pronounced with wheel spacers on. Maybe I ought to throw my stock wheels and tires back on, take it around the block, and see if it goes away. Maybe it's the offset in my new wheels. That would be crazy.
  7. Knock in rear with Dana 44

Interesting thread. On my 2020 Rubicon I just got done doing a 2.5" Metalcloak lift, 37" tires, and a 4.88 regear. I am noticing a very subtle clunk on deceleration at low MPH. Any ammount of throttle input makes it go away. I noticed it immediately on the first test drive, no mileage on the new...
  8. DIY Gear Swap - Step by Step Pic's - Rubicon 4.88

Yeah, I saw the same thing in the video. Once I got inside mine, I couldn't see any logical reason that it was true, that plate spins with the locker, no clue how the electronics could possibly know that I spun it on the locker. But, stranger things have happened. I marked mine and put it back...
  9. DIY Gear Swap - Step by Step Pic's - Rubicon 4.88

I was wondering this myself, I didnt try to see if it would snap into other locations, but I can't figure out how it would ever know if you did. I got mine done flnally. The front was straight forward. The rear, I had to chase backlash, pinion depth, bad parts, etc. I also STRUGGLED getting the...
  10. New drivetrain required for for lift?

You'll need a puller to get the yoke off the transfer case, but I think you should be able to rent one from your local parts store pretty easily. The yoke comes off easy, but pretty much impossible without a puller.
  11. DIY Gear Swap - Step by Step Pic's - Rubicon 4.88

Both of my master kits came apart also, luckily no damage that I could tell. I thought it was very strange. At first I thought I had gotten something somebody had already opened. Those shims couldn't look worse if somebody tried to mess them up, wow!
  12. New drivetrain required for for lift?

I bought a Dana driveshaft for $430 to put on mine to take advantage of the Metalcloak system. It's really not a big deal in the grand scheme of putting on the Metalcloak kit, other than the extra money. It was actually one of the easiest modifications of the whole ordeal. I ALMOST opted for...
  13. DIY Gear Swap - Step by Step Pic's - Rubicon 4.88

So, I decided to try and tackle this project on my Jeep as my first ever differential build. Between chevymitchell's VERY helpful and informative thread and the not so helpful/informative video put out by Spicer, I figured it would be a slam dunk and a good intro to differential setup for me...
  14. Caution: Broken Body Mount Bolt When Installing Frame Mount Rock Sliders / Rails / Sidesteps

I did mine on my 2020 JLUR yesterday. I started by heating the heads of the front two body bolts with a plumbers torch until I was concerned about melting the body mount, then removing the Rubicon rock rails while I let the heat in the bolts migrate to the threads. By the time I got the Rubicon...
  15. California 2.5” mc springs for sale front and rear with rocksport shocks
