My neighbor owns a Prius. Years from now, his kids are going to look back on their youth and think of that reduced carbon footprint with great fondness. Too bad you're not building those kinds of memories with your kids. (Heavy sarcasm)
Jeep on, my friend. You're not just building a...
Better stated than I said it. Sorry I'm not an expert on the ins and outs of service department operations. Just thought it was worth a shot for the OP.
OP, good luck finding help. Most folks here prefer to criticize than to offer recommendations for solutions. :like:
Indeed. If you're not running tools, then big volumes of tank storage are overkill. I air up all 4 tires at the same time, so I prefer having a bit of volume in reserve before starting. Plus, don't forget that a tank also acts as an air cooler and condensation trap. Not huge deal - but it...
Correct. But if a dealership is doing any type of maintenance then they typically perform all of the control system updates as a matter of course.
Again... the worst case is that you get a better steering box.
Tell them your steering feels loose and sloppy, and that your Jeep wanders on the highway. Ask them to replace the aluminum steering box. That way you'll get better steering and your PCM will get updated.
Just a recommendation. I'm sure others will weigh in if they think that's a bad idea.
In a word: Exhaust. I wanted to run hoses from my compressor to a tank mounted under the body. I was going to mount the compressors on the passenger side, but I have a diesel - and the exhaust on the diesels runs down the right side of the frame, not the left. I didn't want my air hoses to...
Seems we have a few things in common!
Love your Jeep. Looking great!
I strongly considered powder coating my wheels white. I really like that look. I was worried about distortion from the heat from powder coat baking and / or O-ring sealing after media blasting the original finish. Having...
I'm sure I did. If all else was equal when purchasing a used vehicle, would you go for the one with the original motor, or the one with a replacement at 3500 miles?
I admit, I'm pretty jaded now. It just was a knee-jerk reaction that really warranted more research first. But I'm not trying...
I like the RR version too for its under-the-hood mounting style. I put my windshield down occasionally though, so the cowl-mounted filter would get in the way.
What?! No engine swap?! You got cheated, broski. I mean, who *doesn't* want a needless engine replacement on a brand new vehicle and the subsequent loss in value? Cheated, I say! CHEATED!
I've only put about 1000 miles on it since the engine swap. It's been running strong, and I haven't seen any leaks. That's all fine and good, but I wish I could get the value back that I lost.

I had the exact same oil leak. My dealership replaced my engine, which I'm not convinced...
Gotcha. I was just saying that all I want in a dual battery system is the ability to start my Jeep even if one battery is drained. From what I understand, the secondary battery is dedicated to exactly that. But I could be wrong. (I'm sure that if someone on this forum knows, they'll jump...
Wire gauge for DC applications depends mostly on voltage and amperage (power), and round-trip distance. Other factors such as duty cycle, heat insulation, and variable loads also matter.
This is a great resource for calculating appropriate gauge for intended application:

I looked for another spot to mount those connectors, but I didn't see any other readily available mounting holes for the clips. I certainly wasn't happy about raising the back of the seat. I don't notice the difference in seat angle - it's too small to tell. But it just makes the installation...
