  1. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Mine steered like crap since day one but has been driving fine since the swap. I lifted it, added wheel spacers and it still steers great. Zero complaints here, happy it now steers like a Jeep instead of like Studebaker with worn out steer knuckles........
  2. Any regrets going automatic?

Auto here, no regrets. I have the Hellcat Challenger for my stick fix...😁
  3. JLUR - Plastic vs Steel Bumpers?

I didn’t like either bumper option (steel or plastic) so I ordered my Jeep with the cheapest to toss. I replaced both with the Quadratec bumpers and never looked back. That said, get what fits your lifestyle for both looks and functionality. It’s your preferences that matter.
  4. How do different colors hold up to the abuse of branches running along side of the Jeep?

Scratches are a badge of honor. A shiny, perfect paint job on a Jeep is like having a 5 point harness in a Smart Car. It’s “neat” but not necessary..... :)
  5. Jeep snobbery - RANT

Damn, I must have missed a memo somewhere. I drive a 2 door Rubicon and wave at anyone in a Jeep and am just happy to be a member of the club. I think if a person is a “Richard”, it isn’t because of their ride, it’s because they’re who they are. This forum doesn’t have too many nutjobs...
  6. Let's be careful out there, folks: Woman Ejected As Jeep Rolls Down Switchbacks On Bridal Veil Road

Hope she recovers. If she had stayed in the Jeep, I think the only thing one could hope was she didn’t suffer when crushed. Terribly bad way to learn the e-brake won’t hold..... :(
  7. Why 17” wheels and not 18 or 20”?

I‘m no expert but I hear it’s real hard to air down 20’s and get much bulge unless it’s a Buick.
  8. Totaled my JL

Ouch. Glad you’re okay. Damn deer.
  9. I need serious help!

I have never removed so many brand new, perfectly functioning parts in my life and I’m far from done. Like others, every time my Fed-Ex or UPS driver drops something off, they look at the Jeep to see what the last delivery was. I think the ReadyLift that I just installed was way to easy for...
  10. Steering Service Bulletin Denied - Advice Please

My 2020 Rubicon was stock except for the bumpers and winch. It is still under warranty by half a year and had less than 4,000 miles on it. My Jeep dealer said, “no” twice. Once before the TSB, once after. I took the Jeep to my SRT dealer who (get this) ASKED PERMISSION to make it steer...
  11. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Hell, I had a DEALER, not just anyone tell me my steering was fine. Twice. Worse yet, the second time was after the TSB was published. To put the final insult on their total incompetence, it was my freaking dealer Hellcat technician that offered to actually try to fix it, not a Jeep mechanic...
  12. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

If you find yourself constantly correcting just to keep it between the lines at highway speed, probably. If you take your eyes off the road to study the map and discover you’ve drifted over the line, probably. If you have no idea if a half inch correction will consistently correct half an inch...
  13. LED Light option; worth it?

Here in Oklahoma, factory LED all the way and then add a light bar with side shooters just to make sure you see that deer thinking about using your grill for a lobotomy........
  14. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Find another dealer Jimmy, some of them are either incompetent, clueless or too ignorant to know the difference between “a Jeep thing” and just plain wrong steering. I gave my “home dealer” two chances and the first trip they said, “it drives like every Jeep in the lot”. I took it back after...
  15. no winch solo - the DeathWish™ poll

I ride solo a lot and have a winch on both my Jeep and PowerWagon. I use them coiled up vipers to motivate me to go on a little tougher trail than my last one. If I never have to pull cable, that’s cool, I hope to never use my insurance as well.
  16. Wrecked new Rubi today. At least Rubicon is tough!

Glad everyone is okay. Mine would need a new seat because the stain I’d leave would never wash out.....
  17. Spied! V8 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Hemi Production Version Begins Testing!

It’s interesting for sure but my only thought is if there is enough gas tank to let you get more than 100 miles from a pump. The little engines like their fuel and my Hellcat definitely LOVES its fuel......LOL
  18. Motor Trend confirms steering issue fix made to 2020 Jeep JL (gear valve tuning & pump calibration changes)

I don’t bother with a test drive either. This is 2020 and I expect every car that I roll out has steering, acceleration, bump and corner handling and brakes. If in the off chance I buy used, yes, I’ll drive it but new? Nope. I learn more about a vehicle on a 12 hour road trip than a test...
