  1. 3 Newbs and a Moab Trip

I’ve been to Moab during EJS 3 times, we just got back today, had a great time. And we went last year in May, also had a great time. We did Arches and Needles parks last year, and had a great time. Don’t let anyone poopoo your plans, it’s still awesome, even when busy. Going back in 4 weeks...
  2. Knock in rear with Dana 44

Just completed two phases. First phase, there was an issue with ARB, but shop replaced pinion bearings, but had to put stock carrier back in, also with upgraded bearings, and knock still persisted. Received replacement ARB, installed, knock is gone, I’m so happy to not hear this knock any longer.
  3. Chad's Colorado 2 Door onroad and offroad fun

Rear ARB installed to get rid of the Dana 44 LSD carrier knock issue. My knocking noise is now gone, and I am really happy. Now to just figure out if I am going to do anything with the clutch recall. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/knock-in-rear-with-dana-44.16921/post-1410360

I‘ve been on that trail, red cone. Was a good day.
  6. Early buyers - Is your JL 3 years old yet?

May 2018 build, bought in June, 15K miles, so almost three. 3 trips to Moab, Ouray, other places around CO. have original steering box, it works great still. On original batteries, I put them on tender weekly. Have the knock in Dana 44 LSD that is well documented here, replacing this with...
  7. Knock in rear with Dana 44

Just sharing something new I found, this D44 rebuilt/overhaul kit from Yukon. I am doing this along with ARB locker install. https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/diff-install-overhaul-kits/ykd44jl-rear-yukon-dana-44-master-overhaul-kit-w-d44-upgrade-rear I don’t know if you could do this rebuild...
  8. STOP ORDER on all Manual Jeeps [Update: software flash fix arrives in March]

They are still doing both recalls, both are listed on my MOPAR site any way.
  9. STOP ORDER on all Manual Jeeps [Update: software flash fix arrives in March]

I haven’t done first recall on clutch yet, it is perfect and not slipping. I removed the clip myself. I have transmission skid, ARB tank right in front of the master cylinder, and Tazer programming, I have no interest in removing all these to have recall done, when I have no symptoms. @DanW...
  10. STOP ORDER on all Manual Jeeps [Update: software flash fix arrives in March]

There are two recalls. First was where the plate would heat up, due to air entering the system, and causing clutch to slip. It was the hose that is replaced in first recall, fluid bled, and clutch dump performed. The recall discussed here is second recall, a software update.
  11. STOP ORDER on all Manual Jeeps [Update: software flash fix arrives in March]

My god you have to stop. if you are going to talk smack about something, at least have your facts correct. First, you keep saying there is something wrong with the manual transmission. There is nothing wrong with the transmission. Second, while not everyone loves this type of clutch, there is...
  12. $1000-2000 to invest...what to do first?

Your Rubicon has sliders, beat those up and use that money elsewhere. i would do the following. 1. Transmission skid plate 2. Front diff skid plate, the front diff is way more vulnerable than the rear, with the position of the drain plug. 3. Air compressor 4. Tire patch kit 5. Sunrider top...
  13. Knock in rear with Dana 44

I have a 2018 Sport (not S), D44 with LSD, 15000 miles, changed rear diff fluid at 10,000, I don’t have this knock yet, but also plan to install lockers when it does, or before it happens. I wouldn’t say run, but be informed and know what your options are if it happens. I will not work with...
  14. Knock in rear with Dana 44

Exactly, and sorry I don’t want to burst your bubble, but it has been stated many times in this thread, 2021’s have this issue, and part numbers haven’t been updated. Sorry, but really doubtful.
  15. Nebraska Safest way to disconnect battery in order to replace aftermarket amp

You don’t need to disconnect both the positive and negative connections from the battery terminals, electricity has to flow in a loop, if you break the loop in one place, the loop is broken, so disconnect the negative. However, our Jeep’s have two batteries, so there are two negatives you need...
  16. Colorado Adventures Continued (Punk'n JLR)

They have load ranges for everyone, on my 2 door I have E rated 33’s, quite overkill. ;). They also have F rated and XL.
  17. Colorado Adventures Continued (Punk'n JLR)

I’ve never KO’s, but I love my Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Can’t say I’ve been on ice yet to have an opinion there
  18. Dana 44 Limited Slip

knock in Dana 44 is well documented, people are getting new axles, now new carriers. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/knock-in-rear-with-dana-44.16921/page-88 the diff fluid change schedule is every 20k miles, so you are way over due. I did my first at 10 K, break in change...
  19. ARB Compressor inner fender mount questions.

I have one mounted in this location for 2 years, 2 winters, 2 trips to Moab, Ouray CO, lots of wheeling front range mountains like Breckinridge, no issues thus far. As far as the location is concerned. My bracket was made by a forum member here, not a brand name. I have DV8 inner fenders too...
