  1. Little things you discovered on your JL

A this is seriously the most stupid thing you’ve seen on a car? Pretty much every car has them now.
  2. 2.0 turbo vs Pentastar V6

It’s not quite that simple. It depends on what rpm the torque and hp maxes out at. Example, on paper you have more wheel torque in 4low but you’re not going to want to pull your trailer in 4 low all day.
  3. 2020 Jeep JL Model Year Waiting Club

I hope it sells better than the plug in hybrid Mini. Or Pacifica. Or anything else that’s ever been offered in a plug in hybrid.
  4. What Octane Gas Are You Going To Put In Your JL?

This is my fourth vehicle with a Pentastar in it since 2011. Every one of them used 87 with no problems. Something is wrong with your engine.
  5. OMG: After 10 days and 1,500 miles and these two things happen

I wish I was under 30. Jeeps are a lot of fun. We all know that. They’re reliability is lacking. Hopefully we all should know that. Their reliability is lacking because we buy them anyway. We really don’t hold them to a higher standard. The original post was created when there was a flurry of...
  6. OMG: After 10 days and 1,500 miles and these two things happen

It’s like when I see a sign at a factory that proudly claims they have had no DUI’s in 30 days. Some might say it’s something to be proud of. For others, it’s an admission of a problem.
  7. OMG: After 10 days and 1,500 miles and these two things happen

Yes it’s retarded. Maybe after you have something for 150k you have something to brag about. A new car isn’t supposed to have issues. I have 3 dealers in my area and they all suck. Wait til your euphoria from your new purchase wears off and you’ll realize your’s suck too.
  8. OMG: After 10 days and 1,500 miles and these two things happen

I don’t put much stock into surveys either, but I have owned three Jeeps and a Chrysler. They’re not flawless and their dealer service department sucks and getting a courtesy car while they fix their recalls is like pulling teeth. I keep coming back for more because they have one of the more...
  9. OMG: After 10 days and 1,500 miles and these two things happen

The irony here is that this thread doesn’t exonerate Jeep’s notorious quality problems by the mere fact a thread like this is necessary to lift everybody’s spirits in the first place. Not everybody has a problem with their Jeeps. If you don’t have a problem with a new Jeep, it’s not a cause...
  10. OMG: After 10 days and 1,500 miles and these two things happen

You’re bragging that your brand new Jeep isn’t broken. You trolled yourself. Love the nostalgic middle school comeback though.
  11. OMG: After 10 days and 1,500 miles and these two things happen

“Amazing! My Jeep with 2000 miles has no problems at all!” I bet you don’t see threads like this on the Toyota forums.
  12. Dear Jeep, please don't make a "weird" hybrid version of the Wrangler...

It’ll be an interesting experiment. Currently electric vehicles are almost strictly for commuting purposes. The business case for buying an electric Wrangler would have to save more gas money than the up-charge for an electric drivetrain. By the time depreciation and additional insurance cost...
  13. Dear Jeep, please don't make a "weird" hybrid version of the Wrangler...

I can think of a reason. One doesn’t always want to stop proportionally as much as they don’t want to go. Just because you no longer want to accelerate full throttle doesn’t mean you want to start slamming your brakes. Same with a panic stop. There’s a reason the brakes are controlled by a...
  14. Dear Jeep, please don't make a "weird" hybrid version of the Wrangler...

Currently the PHEV Pacifica is the worst selling and least profitable Pacifica. Only about 5% of Pacifica sales are PHEV even though the cost is roughly the same as the gas Pacifica even before the tax credit. The PHEV Pacifica is also plagued with problems 3 years after being in production...
  15. Gas-mileage with SmartStopStart?

The engine, battery, and starter are designed to work with start stop. It only works when the oil is warm, so it’s not the wear and tear you would get on a repeated cold engine start.
  16. Straps in Sunrider Position - Anyone Use them?

It beats taking all the windows out first and the visibility out the back is actually better with the top up. With sunrider open and back windows out you can’t really tell the top is on at all from the drivers seat. Folded all the way down looks better but doesn’t really feel anymore open and it...
  17. Straps in Sunrider Position - Anyone Use them?

I don’t use them for the sunrider position. I do use them to strap the top to itself when the top is down so it doesn’t bounce around. The locks only hold down the back half of the top.
  18. Preventing Spare Tire Theft

I’m calling BS on this. This is an urban legend I’ve heard from every dealer for the past 15 years. First off dealers use locking lug nuts because they can charge the customer a few hundred dollars extra for them anyway. Second, the dealership has hundreds of thousands in inventory sitting...
  19. Preventing Spare Tire Theft

I have had my wheels stolen with the locking nuts. They just break your window and take your lug key. The doors of my Jeep are off for months at a time and I basically have a tent for a roof. At some point you just stop sweating everything.
