  1. 3.6L ESS Dual Battery Consolidated Information

Thanks for posting. I don't think the aux battery causes anywhere near the issues it gets credit for. After 3 years, my main needed replaced, but the aux is still good. It is part of an overly complicated system prone to failure, but it's usually not impossible to trouble shoot with the...
  2. Cheap Jeep Hacks! Show 'Em Off Here!

This is the correct answer, the manual transmissions only crank as long as the button is pressed.
  3. adjusting the clock constantly?

The slow clock in my 5" radio was fixed with TSB 08-017-21, three weeks now and no loss of time.
  4. Anyone else have this under their dash?

There's been some great advice in this thread. Let's all take one of these long slender black devices, attach some batteries to it and stick it on a commercial vehicle.
  5. Anyone else have this under their dash?

I found one in the Gladiator I purchased last year. I assumed the dealer installed it to protect their inventory, they never tried to sell me anything. Now that I think about it, when we bought my wife's Cherokee from the same dealer, I pushed back on the finance shenanigans, I wouldn't even...
  6. ESS Dual Battery Management

@Redbaron73, What light was flashing "red" for over 1 hour? With it at 15.1v when it didn't seem to charge, do you know what the voltages were when you successfully charged the batteries? I'm not an expert on batteries and charging and I've probably ruined many motorcycle batteries by using...

  8. ESS Dual Battery Management

If you have a question about if your negative cable is connected correctly, you need to post a picture or a diagram showing your battery disconnect and the aux battery stud. I would not want to assume how it is setup.
  9. Recall Notice 21V-028 [1/28/21]: Manual Transmission / Clutch Overheat Covers All 2018-2021 Jeep Wranglers Produced by January 22, 2021

The 2018 schematics show a shifter position sensor, why do you think there isn't one? I assume the delay is due to the different software versions, that the patched firmware in my 2018 is different from updated 2021 firmware and adding the function as a patch is different than changing the...
  10. Trying to figure out my electrical issue before it doesn’t start at all anymore.

Make sure your ground cables are tight and get your batteries load tested. I suspect your main battery is going bad, building internal resistance. This makes it so even though the voltage is good, it's ability to supply power is degraded. Overtime I noticed mine cranking longer to start. I...
  11. ESS Dual Battery Management

I did fabricate my own, but I found this site where you can order custom battery cables. I've never used them and don't know anything about them. https://www.batterycablesusa.com/6-gauge-awg-ul-battery-cable-with-ends
  12. 2021 cherokee input

We got my wife a 2019 Cherokee with 3.2L V6. I didn't like the under powered 2.4L and am not a fan of the direct injection used by the 2.0L turbo. I wasn't planning on getting 4wd, but it got it because it wasn't much more and were glad we did after this past winter. It's been a great car for...
  13. 3.6L ESS Aux Battery Bypass

Since the battery sensor is what connects to the battery top post, I'm not sure how you could make that work. Here's a picture that shows which body ground cable will disconnect both batteries.
  14. Show me tires sticking out 1" from the fender

I have the General Grabber ATX 265/70/17 tires installed on the CJ retro wheels.

Thanks for posting this information. I'd like to get back there and need to check into an off-season trip.
  16. Your favorite mod under $200

Good floor mats were my first upgrade, followed closely by brighter (Sylvania) headlight bulbs and new speakers in the dash.
  17. Recall Notice 21V-028 [1/28/21]: Manual Transmission / Clutch Overheat Covers All 2018-2021 Jeep Wranglers Produced by January 22, 2021

Clutch slippage will feel like tire slippage, vehicle speed/acceleration will not match engine rpm. Just like when the tires lose traction and you try to accelerate, if the clutch is slipping when accelerating the rpms will spike up, but you won't go any faster.
  18. "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon"

Did this get fixed? It looks like at some point the N3 fuse was blown.
  19. shut off while in Drive, wont start or shift into Park.

If you don't step on the brake, you can cycle the ignition to run and then to stop without actually starting the engine.
  20. shut off while in Drive, wont start or shift into Park.

I also want to add that when you park, if you push run/stop before shifting into Park and then shift into Park, you are still in ACC mode and the batteries will still drain quickly.
