  2. Ocean Blue and Punk'n Ordering is now Open!

If tan leather is indeed the only option, and if the configurator is working properly, why does it show the black seat options at all? And why does it list black cloth as standard? Perhaps tan leather is the only available seating option at this time, for whatever reason, but that will change...
  3. Insurance quotes

A year, or per six-month payment?
  4. New JLU owner... Not too Happy

Very sorry for your trouble. Both of these sound like assembly errors, not problems with design or defects with materials, so presumably at the end of this ordeal you'll have the Wrangler you wanted.
  5. Coasting

I hope you're right about turbo pricing. A 10% improvement actually provides more benefit for lousy mileage vehicles, because they use more gas. So it's 10% of a larger number:
  6. [CA] Where can I get the best financing outside of the dealership?

For a loan of this size and duration, the differences to the right of the decimal point might not amount to much for your monthly payments. This could be useful to compare rates: https://www.bankrate.com/calculators/home-equity/compare-loans-calculator.aspx
  7. Top things you DON'T like about the New JL Wrangler

I wish the new soft top was more convincing. I realize that it's a big improvement over its predecessor, but still.
  8. Top things you DON'T like about the New JL Wrangler

To state the obvious, you have no more right to make disparaging remarks about women on this forum than you do for any other group.
  9. Top things you DON'T like about the New JL Wrangler

Have you seriously never heard of a car that had a turn-key ignition lock jam, or a key that broke?
  10. More 2018 Wrangler JL Colors Coming - Nacho, Mojito!, Punk'n, Ocean Blue, Sting-Gray (with renders)

Can we assume that the same three seat options are available for all exterior colors, and that the configurator is broken for a couple of the late arriving ones?
  11. Is a Wrangler really what I'm looking for?

If you know you want to do serious rock crawling in a vehicle you are preparing to purchase now, there are a lot of folks on this forum who can give you great advice, and I'm not one of them. If, instead, you're not familiar with the West and think it takes something like a Jeep to get to hiking...
  12. Is a Wrangler really what I'm looking for?

There are many car-based SUVs on the market that will get you everywhere you've described for less money, in more comfort, with better reliability and far superior gas mileage. And all of them come with a real roof that's permanently attached to the rest of the vehicle. The only reasons I can...
  13. Gas milage and drivability of 4.10 Rubicon gearing vs 3.45 Sport gearing

Sorry. There were some posts wondering if the JL auto might have a dual clutch, and disappointment to learn it does not. (I hope I got that right.) I posted merely to comment that DCTs seem to be falling out of favor, and also that I liked the ZF in my BMW. I have no idea why I referred to it as...
  14. Gas milage and drivability of 4.10 Rubicon gearing vs 3.45 Sport gearing

I know nothing about this directly, but it's easy to find recent articles saying DCTs are going out of fashion. I referenced them here for those who might have been hoping the JL's new auto had this design. My BMW wagon has a ZF 8HP, and I don't even notice when it shifts.
  15. Gas milage and drivability of 4.10 Rubicon gearing vs 3.45 Sport gearing

I mean, all else being equal, assume same size tires, assume the engine is identically efficient at all RPMs (I realize it's not), etc., it's not true that downshifting and revving higher to maintain the same speed increases fuel consumption. The Rubicon doesn't burn 19% more fuel because of the...
  16. Gas milage and drivability of 4.10 Rubicon gearing vs 3.45 Sport gearing

It appears that dual-clutch transmissions are falling out of favor. They're less reliable than single-clutch designs, and the latter has matched them in performance.
  17. If Chinese company buys Jeep, will Wrangler be affected?

There go some really exciting engine options.
  18. Gas milage and drivability of 4.10 Rubicon gearing vs 3.45 Sport gearing

"gearing is going to reduce your mileage by about 19% (cuz 4.10 / 3.45 = 1.19). In other words, the engine is going to have to spin 19% more than 3.45-equipped JL to go the same distance." Is this actually correct? I don't understand mechanics. Does fuel consumption increase linearly with...
  19. JLU Ordering on West Coast

And that is why I thank you, sir, for posting! I will contact them. Tacoma is beautiful this time of year.
