Yep, that's what it sounds like. You won't be able to do anything from the bottom. You have to get to it from the side plastic cover. You don't need to unplug anything, just take the 4 bolts that hold the seat in and get in the back seat... Then lean the whole seat forward. It sounds like it is...
Just to let everyone know.... The grease thing works. Just unbolt the seat and lean it forward so you can get to the the plastic cover where the seat hinges.( The center console side, 2 phillips screws ) You will see a tube that goes from one side to the other. It's not the actual hinge point...
Thanks, I'll give that a try. I have the same noise from the passenger seat when someone is in it. If I sit in it and pull myself to the front with no weight on the back, it doesn't pop. Mine pops when making a turn from one direction to another.
