I have had my S-type on my 3.6L 4D JULR for a year now and I do really like it.
What I don't like is 5/6 gear on the highway. Despite what they say, there is a terrible drone at certain RPMs. Higher RPM and lower RPM seem to be good, but when you are going up hill, pulling anything, or driving...
That rattle is definitely normal.
I disconnected the turnbuckle (and carefully) allowed the TC to swing away from the door to ensure that the door was separated and aligned without affect from the carrier. Then when combined they don't have issues. When is closed and snug to the block it may...
You should not need shims.
Take the tail gate bolts lose from the hinges and adjust it. If it sags when the door is open then the gate is carrying weigh and not the tire carrier.
Once the Hong is lose you can adjust the gate independently of the tire carrier and it works beautifully
Mine is still working well. I have doubled the milage since the issue and so far the new PCM is working.
The dealer had to hook a voltage recorder up to mine to see that the PCM was faulty and gave intermittent low voltages. Once they proved that they replaced it (it was back ordered and took...
I did get those bolts with the kit, but there were no instructions. I put it on in a hurry and didn't think much of it until now.
Can you email the installation instructions?
Thanks guys! I'm glad you already had a fix for it, unfortunately I didn't install it!!
Did some badge of honor trails in Arkansas this weekend and the TC did great.
I did however find an issue with the hilift mount.
The gate can swing open far enough to allow the hilift to contact the brake light which finally broke after a weekend of wheeling.
Is there a plan to make a stop?
I have found something with my setup that caused the rebooting.
I have a warn platinum winch with the wireless remote.
Whenever I plug it in the USB ports to charge it the radio reboots repe, but but in a random pattern.
The usb port in the center consol has an led ight around it and when I...
I had the same issue.
I just took the bolts lose that hold the tailgate stop bracket to the body and let it self adjust a bit. After some tweaking it worked just fine.
It did make some rough noises at first so I added to a little grease.
After that it's been just fine and still holds well...
Yeah, definitely tired different cables. I have also tired the built in c port and the regular USB port on the dash, but not the port on the inside of the center consol port.
I'll put that on the troubleshooting list.
Well I think I learned something tonight.
I was able to sort of duplicate the issue by plugging a second usb device into 1 of the 900 usb ports available in the JL.
If I plug and unplugged the USB the android auto would disconnect. Then occasionally the radio would crash reboot.
Thanks, I'll check that one specifically.
It only happens when my phone is plugged in and android auto is running.
If I leave my phone disconnected it has no issues.
Thats why I'm leaning towards a software issue.
