I purchased from BAM, by far the best pricing around
Yes you can install the kit, running the (included) halo harness to the BCM is a pain but easier if you do the following;
1) remove the passenger side fender
2) remove the bolts holding the passenger seat & push it back
3) remove the bolts...
Not certain my experience directly relates to your situation but it maybe of use..
I changed out my halogen headlights to MOPAR OEM LEDs.. (also the fogs and front turns).. the LED headlights came with instructions which included a very specific sequence of operations for bringing the vehicle...
If your question is regarding LED DRL/turn signal there is no code. Yes, there is a persistent conspiracy theory that there is a code but FCA won’t share it with dealers but that’s false.. I won’t regurgitate how I know but if it’s important to you it’s easy enough to read my prior posts...
My JLU came with halogens.. I found them absolutely awful.. like dangerously bad!
LEDs were so expensive I first tried replacing the OEM bulbs with Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs.. a slight improvement but still inadequate and lots of flashes from oncoming cars.. (they were aimed correctly)...
Installation is a bit tedious but fairly straightforward.. you'll want to purchase some new fender
clips
(PN 68395634AA / $2.25 each at the dealer or $0.67 each online) as you'll likely break a few on each side taking the fenders off. (taking...
I’d bet your guess about the non-LED turns being the issue is absolutely correct. Not sure who is telling you MOPAR doesn’t make LED turns though.. they definitely do make them, I purchased them from MOPAR.. The part numbers I purchased are; 55112884AF and 5511885AF..
Definitely agree with you on the LED headlight kit example.. (the "kit" is just 2 additional wires to support halo functionality) Seems logical that a similar "kit"would be feasible for the directionals..
I haven't found any indication there's a different part number for the BCM in a Base...
Re: your first paragraph.. Initially I shared your skepticism.. and spent (as related earlier) many, many hours in an effort to track down that "secret" sales code that FCA wouldn't support.. I believed a code was available and once added to my VIN (by FCA Regional) my dealer could then flash...
I feel your pain... had the exact same perspective and frustration and spent many hours harassing (in a friendly way) other forum members, my dealership, Jeep Cares, and Jeep Management contacted thru Linked-In..
The bottom line is the wiring harness and circuitry on vehicles optioned with the...
As noted on the last line of the above chart, the Mini can be upgraded via a software key - I think that can be accomplished remotely as are the firmware updates
The Tazer will absolutely correct hyper-flash and dash errors.. resistors will not work (at least they didn't for me) I purchased a Tazer JL but if I was purchasing again a Taser Mini would be my choice
Been there..
Since your Rubi didn't come with (at least) LED tail lights there's no flash that will make the front fender LED turn signals work. There were rumors (on this forum and elsewhere) of a non-published "sales code" that would only be provided by the Region sales manager upon...
Apologies if I'm off target but if your Sahara didn't come with (at least) LED tail lights there's no flash that will make the DRLs/turn signals work (not hyper-flash and/or throw errors). I spent a ton of time (unsuccessfully) wrestling with my dealer and with various Jeep reps in an effort...
If there already is a wired pin in that location (cavity 5 at the headlight) you don’t need the halo harness; otherwise you'd see a white plastic pin there.. And at the BCM end, I suspect you'll find connector C1 already has wired pins occupying cavities 5 & 7.
There’s a fair amount of...
I've always been a bit skeptical of the various brand-based claims of "best oil"; my assumption was if you use a quality brand in the correct viscosity they are all about the same and you don't have to get into the nitty gritty of fine print acronyms..
(well, we all know what is said about...
attached chart from Tazer compares the various versions.. be aware it must be "paired" to your vehicle and "Live" functionality modifications will work only when it is present. (you can't use it to fix your issues, then remove it and use it to fix your buddy's Jeep). You can un-pair it from...
RE: fender light harness; Correct, the halogen and LED fender harness are the same; unfortunately the circuitry either in the chassis harness between the plug at the fender and the BCM (or the BCM itself) is different. If your Sahara or Rubicon didn't come with the LED package the LED fender...
I upgraded my non-LED Sahara with MOPAR LED headlights, fogs and turns.. in retrospect the turns were WAY too much trouble and cost; if you haven't already installed them you may want to reconsider..
Here's why the turns aren't worth it (IMHO):
1) they are expensive @ $500
2) no sales code...
