I put 33" 285/70/17 BFG KO2s on my Stock JL Sport.
Wheels are 17x8.5" Fuel Anza -6mm offset.
No rubbing or issues at all.

My son had a JK Sport, a JK Sahara and a JK Rubicon Hard Rock. I do believe the JK Sahara suspension was somewhere in the middle of the Sport and Rubicon.
