  1. American adventure lab arb twin compressor mount w remote fitting

The lid does not sit perfectly flat. If you enlarge the bottom picture I posted above you'll see the size of the wad of wire and air line. That can be flattened out a bit, but it's still going to deflect the carpet panel (which you can also see in the picture). It all goes back together, but...
  2. Original Tazer JL refurbs avail...Great Price @ $165 !

Sorry. Still don't get it. Please help this old goat understand why "loaded with a new or recent firmware" doesn't mean that it's been adjusted to the new FCA PCM, so it will provide all the functionality it used to when it was first introduced. Is FCA's new PCM so sophisticated it can't be...
  3. Original Tazer JL refurbs avail...Great Price @ $165 !

I guess what I'm wondering is whether the "refurbishing" process might include programming adjustments that restore old functionality. I'm assuming there are no PCM updates that can't be programmed around. I'm also assuming that the refurbishing process would impart the most current updates...
  4. How much to ask for my Jeep

I've been given similarly discouraging advice in the past. It's certainly true much of the time. The general rule about aftermarket additions being nearly worthless is correct. On the other hand, there are plenty of guys like me who know what those mods cost and will give you better value for...
  5. Original Tazer JL refurbs avail...Great Price @ $165 !

Do the refurbished units have all the functionality the units had in 2018? So they'll disable "autopark"? Or were they refurbished with that desirable feature deleted?
  6. Jeep humor waiting room ( ** NO POLITICS ** )

Thanks! It's been a couple months, but it's always nice to visit.
  7. Jeep humor waiting room ( ** NO POLITICS ** )

For those of you who, like me, are frustrated by the proliferation of nanny features like “auto-park” and warning labels to inform people that brake fluid and gasoline are “not for internal consumption”, I offer this helpful video showing how we got here and what we can expect in the future. :)...
  8. Quick Poll III - Why are you not taking off your doors?

The poll didn't allow the selection of multiple reasons, which is probably what most of us would have chosen. Four of the listed reasons apply to me right now, as do two of the other options folks suggested that were not listed. It's now February in Oregon, it's cold, and we're about to get...
  9. I think I'm in love with my new tires and wheels!

I don't see a shoutout -- but I agree the wheels and tires are nice. :like: And I'll say that our Discount Tire team has been great to me!
  10. New Rubicon. Bizarre safety feature.

I know nothing about the insurance business, and I didn't ask about the nature of his coverage, but I suspect New Zealand lacks many of the influences that drive our insurance costs, including crash rates, theft rates, lawsuit rates, and the prevalence of unlicensed and uninsured motorists...
  11. New Rubicon. Bizarre safety feature.

Of course, for the 90% of us who have electric windows and occasionally roll down the windows, this isn’t a solution.
  12. New Rubicon. Bizarre safety feature.

I’m sure I’d probably use every tool available to me to take care of a family member who was seriously injured. We work with the rules of the system we’re in, and desperate people do desperate things, but our system is ridiculous and in desperate need of tort reform. We all pay a crazy amount...
  13. New Rubicon. Bizarre safety feature.

This is a tragic story. Sadly, we can't child-proof the world. Life is dangerous -- and none of us will get out of it alive. Here's a list of bizarre accidental ways people die. As you work through the list imagine the government-engineered solution to prevent each type of death from...
  14. New Rubicon. Bizarre safety feature.

Not anymore. I bought the Taser for this purpose, because the auto-park feature is incredibly irritating, and Taser advertised the disable function. The feature wasn’t in the menu where it was supposed to be so I emailed the Taser folks and their representative said, “I’m sorry. We no longer...
  15. 4.88, 4.56, or 4.1 gears for 285 75 17

Try Lyft Offroad in Glenwood Springs. They are a few hours from Denver, but they are great people and great to work with. Give them (Sean and Christine) a call. They build amazing Jeeps.
  16. 4.88, 4.56, or 4.1 gears for 285 75 17

410s are the perfect balance for the scenario you describe. The fact that there are shops out there that will recommend 488s for a JL running 32.75” tires and wanting highway drivability proves, again, that many people in the business give awfully lousy advice.
  17. 4.88, 4.56, or 4.1 gears for 285 75 17

I think you should look at the cost of regearing and then ask yourself if you’re not happy with the way your Jeep drives. That’s the bottom line. Having an 8th gear you use infrequently is like having an overdrive you use infrequently... it’s in the who cares department. If you’re not happy...
  18. 4.88, 4.56, or 4.1 gears for 285 75 17

I’m surprised. I wouldn’t regear. I have a Rubicon, so it came with 410s. It performed great with true 34s, and it still drives well with fake 37s now (37” BFG KO2s, which are really about 35.5”). If I was feeling rich, and I’d already bought new Alcon brakes, I’d probable install 456s now...
  19. Does Anyone Have Any Questions About Manufacturer Backed Extended Warranties?

Wait... Is there an aftermarket warranty that isn’t provided by a company that‘s in the game purely to make money? Aren’t Chrysler and all of its dealers and affiliates in the game to make money too? I’m pretty sure that’s the whole idea.... We have a local car dealership that runs an...
  20. What best offset rim for a jl sport with mopar lift

I’m currently running -12 offset 17” KMCs with 37” tires on my Rubicon with the Mopar lift. No rubbing at all. The pictures below show my Jeep before the lift running 35s on the same -12 offset wheels. The sport with the Mopar lift should have plenty of room for 35s.
