With so much hysteria created from time spent scouring the internet, leading to sleepless nights, wringing hands and dollars needlessly spent chasing problems that may not exsist...here's a little light hearted poll.
Well, there you go...no block heater in a 2021. Sometimes it really pays it scour the option sheet before placing your order or the "buy what's sitting on the lot" because you just can't wait to get your new Jeep.
If you will at some point need a block heater, it sux to be you. NAH...I live in...
Here's our rig. 19FD GeoPro...just got back from 2500 miles and 3 weeks on the road. Pulls like a DREAM with the EcoDiesel, and got mostly 16 mpg. Worse ever was 14 bucking a unforgiving head wind rolling to Patagonia Lake in Arizona...The diesel is a brute.
I understand ALL our Eco Diesels came equipped with block heaters...but ONLY IF you ordered a block heater on your build sheet, it came with a cord. Supposedly you can go to the dealer and purchase the cord and connect it to the already installed heater...It's also suppose to be a MoFo to get to...
15,000 on a 2020, I can get 27 day in and day out. 30's upon rare occasion, 16 pulling a 19' travel trailer...worse ever was 14 pulling with a horrible head wind...
Stock tires on Mopar wheels everything else is stock...
The JLURD is actually a VERY competent tow vehicle...Just did three weeks on the road/2500 miles and pretty much got 16 mpg pulling the GeoPro. It will go as fast as you want but I keep it between 60 and 65 mph.
I had heating issues early on after taking ownership of the Jeep, but...if you can...
Well, I started this thread, and for all my initial bitching and moaning about coolant temp, here's a follow up.
Three weeks on the road and over 1000 miles around through Arizona and back home to Utah, the diesel never got too hot. Always ran about 60 to 65 mph, ambient as high as 80... some...
Coolant temp on this rig is essentially a pita. The diesel pulls like a beast but as soon as it starts to fuel up to start pulling, the temp starts to rise as well.
With ambient from 30f to 60f, it's not a problem. It stays below a reasonable (according to Mopar) 230f. Ambient above that, watch...
Mine is entirely stock...100% and it loves to get hot pulling a grade with a trailer. Not too bad going solo, but pull a load, watch it close.
I really think if we could get Tazer to add fan control while pulling it may help.
The analog gauge is no indication of engine temp, it's no better than an idiot light. Ya gott'a watch the digital gauge (and I'm somewhat skeptical about that one...). Once the digital hits mid 230°f's the analog needle takes off like a rocket.
Bottom line, our diesel versions when pulling a...
This IS the solution for towing mirrors! Rampage is a good produce but comes from Taiwan but the adapters are an amazing. Super nice! Thanks Thorn!!
This should be a sticky...
Ya, it's a Rookwood 19FD Geo-Pro. Very happy so far, amazing construction, innovative ideas and comes fully equipped, fairly priced too. It's a great rig for a Wrangler IMO.
It took 8 week to take delivery after placing our order though...
I don't have a picture of the unit hooked to the rig, 2020 JLUR diesel but here's the trailer...2021 Rockwood Geo-Pro. I've got about 1000 miles on it so far and it pulls absolutely amazing, rock solid. This is travel trailer #6 for us and I've pulled all my life, CDL included. Advertized dry...
Following this thread but my 2020 diesel with the aluminium box tracks and stears fine with no issues...but you are aware it is a short, high centered vehicle and not a Bentley... If it wasn't for the forum, I wouldn't even know there are issues.
Makes me wonder what happened to the affected...
12k+ miles, purchased in May in Little Rock Arkansas took a two week road trip driving back to Utah.
ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS and it runs and pulls like a raped ape.
I'm not even reveal what I'm towing...too many armchair internet jockeys out there.
