  1. Overlanding without a roof rack, exterior storage or seat delete? Sky OneTouch top challenge

I believe their intent with that number is illustrating the weight including the rack. Further up in the doc, in the text, it actually lists it as having a 265lbs load capacity including the weight of the platform. I think this is a typo, and believe the 130lbs to be correct. Agreed - this...
  2. Overlanding without a roof rack, exterior storage or seat delete? Sky OneTouch top challenge

Apology, my numbers were slightly off. I was recalling them from memory. According to this: https://www.rhinoadventuregear.com/products/rhino-rack-pioneer-platform-backbone-rack-system-jeep-wrangler-jl-4dr-hardtop-3-base?variant=29382775603318 the off-road capacity is 130lbs dynamic, 190lbs...
  3. Overlanding without a roof rack, exterior storage or seat delete? Sky OneTouch top challenge

Good info. Seems the off-road rating for the rhino rack with the backbone (for the hardtop) is 190lbs. The Gobi seems to hold at 300. Neither of which I really want. I did see another post where someone put the T3X Gazelle tent across the floorboard in front of the rear seat. That would...
  4. Overlanding without a roof rack, exterior storage or seat delete? Sky OneTouch top challenge

that is a cool hammock, though I don’t think it would work for me and the wife together. I’m trying to not have anything on the exterior if possible.
  5. Overlanding without a roof rack, exterior storage or seat delete? Sky OneTouch top challenge

I actually think the T3 can be put on the cargo shelf. Just pop the side windows out and slide it in across. Reinstall the side window. I think it’s wide enough there to work.
  6. Overlanding without a roof rack, exterior storage or seat delete? Sky OneTouch top challenge

Alrighty, here's the question - do you think it's feasible to go overlanding/camping for 3 days in a JLUR with my wife and dog, without requiring a seat delete or exterior cargo rack? Why, you might ask - well, I have the Sky OneTouch Top (which I like for the convenience and open-air feel), so...
  7. What Years Are JL Hard Top Freedom Panels Interchangeable?

Mine criticized the Jeep saying that it wasn't fast and didn't handle well. So I bought a 911 Turbo S. Showed her. Jeep rides are oddly quiet now.
  8. Sky One Touch Headliner?

I've used Decibel X on my top at 75 and found it registered around 85-88 with the top, and not a significant change with the new headliner installed. I've seriously considered swapping someone for their hardtop with my powertop.
  9. Alpine IR front UCA clamp angle

Thanks. I"ll have to yank the upper arms and try and move the clamps again. I attempted to swivel them a bit when I first installed the arms, but as mentioned, was unable to without what felt like excessive force.
  10. Meet The TrailRax Pak Rax System

Would be great to post this to this thread so we can all benefit from that knowledge. Mine were delivered yesterday, but I’ve yet to install them and am concerned about the same.
  11. Upgrade to a JT?

also depends on JT trim. JT Rubi diesel I just built is only 6k.
  12. Hotheads For Sky One Touch

Just installed mine - it's great. It's about as close to hard-top levels of noise reduction as I think is achievable with the roof design. Also cleans up the interior very nicely. I only wish it connected to all of the bars for a taughter look. It's awesome and well worth it for anyone...
  13. Upgrade to a JT?

Biggest problem with a 1500 or PowerWagon is sheer size. It's incredibly difficult to get it down somewhat narrow trails. JT doesn't have that problem.
  14. Upgrade to a JT?

Bed cover doesn't account for extreme temps (either hot or cold) and things like ice cream or milk. For long drives with the kids to the mountains for skiing, it means that the ski boots have to be packed inside, or they are freezing by the time you get to the hill. Also, bed covers are not...
  15. Alpine IR front UCA clamp angle

Hi - I have a set of Alpine IR control arms installed in my rig and they seem to be working great so far. During the install, however, I noticed the front upper arms both had the clamp offset (towards the passenger side) to the center line of the arm. This causes the arm on the passsenger side...
  16. Upgrade to a JT?

I too have been thinking about the "upgrade" to a diesel JT due to usability of the bed. Realities seem to be different though. People mentioned cargo vs people, which is a major tradeoff (I have kids that consume the rear seats - getting groceries is harder with them. Basic stuff). I've...
  17. JL Rotopax Mount - "Adventure Caddie"

Looks good! Hard to tell on my phone but did you eliminate the brake light mount?
  18. JL Rotopax Mount - "Adventure Caddie"

Not to throw more wrenches into the works, but.... The Teraflex tire carrier actually uses a different thread pitch on the carrier side than the wheel side (14x1.5 on wheel, not sure about the carrier). Would these studs replace the wheel studs or would they be extensions that would bolt to...
  19. JL Rotopax Mount - "Adventure Caddie"

Pics attached. Note that you can see how the camera mounts comes through as well. In the center of the wheel, Method chose to significantly recess the mounting face as opposed to dishing the wheel face entirely. Let me know if you need more info - happy to provide it.
  20. JL Rotopax Mount - "Adventure Caddie"

Like the changes to allow for a factory-like camera mounting. Thinking through the wheel backspacing - it's a little worse than you might imagine with regard to aftermarket wheels. I have the Method 702s with a zero offset and the face of the wheel is pushed out quite a bit to be flush with...
