  1. The Never Ending Journey to a Two Door on 37s - C1

Really nice build! I was looking at Synergy too. Have you decided between the 2" and 3" springs yet? I'm thinking 2" is the way to go on a 2-door with 37's...
  2. Differences between undercarriage in 2021 Rubicon 2-door

It appears Jeep updated the motor mounts for 2021. Every aftermarket engine skid plate is braced to the motor mount so you have to find one with the updated braces. Also, there have been changes to the exhaust system, specifically where it crosses under the transmission so there are possibly...
  3. STOP ORDER on all Manual Jeeps [Update: software flash fix arrives in March]

Same here! Ordered mine 10/5/2020... stupid half doors
  4. Anyone recognize this sweet looking stubby?

Great, you find a bumper that checks all my boxes AFTER I've ordered one!
  5. Options for topless season

^^^ This. Being able to easily and safely remove the top turns this from a chore to a 20 minute job. The doors are by far the worst part of the job. It takes 5 minutes to put the emergency top on or take it off - great for quick trips on sketchy days.
  6. Half Doors - Who is gonna be 1st!?

He is pulling your leg. Just got a call from the dealer, my status just went to KZ - released to shipper!!! Whoot Whoot!
  7. Recall Notice 21V-028 [1/28/21]: Manual Transmission / Clutch Overheat Covers All 2018-2021 Jeep Wranglers Produced by January 22, 2021

I suspect the unusual way the inner disk is driven causes a little extra drag when you do this. I for one will put it in neutral at stop lights. Here is a link to my analysis...
  8. Recall Notice 21V-028 [1/28/21]: Manual Transmission / Clutch Overheat Covers All 2018-2021 Jeep Wranglers Produced by January 22, 2021

My best friend is 72 years old and does that too. He's been doing it all his life and never had a problem. I suspect that the unusual design of this clutch doesn't like it much, just a FYI.
  9. Recall Notice 21V-028 [1/28/21]: Manual Transmission / Clutch Overheat Covers All 2018-2021 Jeep Wranglers Produced by January 22, 2021

Thanks for posting @Jeff Farmer - as far as I know you are the only person posting that's actually had this happen. Do you have any driving habits that might be a contributing factor? Not judging, just trying to figure out how to keep from getting stranded myself! Q1: Do you ever sit at a light...
  10. ***Warning*** Artec Skid plate, possible fuel line issue?

Could it be fatigue from flexing while unsupported that breaks the line? @anotheraznguy - did your line fracture or did it have a spot that got rubbed through?
  11. Illinois Rubicon wheels with 35” KM3 tires

I've got a new in box (never been opened) high clearance exhaust system that won't fit my 2021 JLR. Any interest in a trade + cash? It's a Hooker Blackheart BH-5412 that lists for $420, $375 firm.
  12. Tire weight vs heights impact on inertia

Cool find, I've added this to my list of calculators: https://bndtechsource.wixsite.com/home/rotational-inertia-calculator However, you were using the one for an annular disk (disk with a hole in the center). You needed to scroll down a bit and find the tire specific calculator. The big unknown...
  13. Illinois Rubicon wheels with 35” KM3 tires

DId you need spacers to run those? Do they stay balanced?
  14. Looking to purchase my 1st Wrangler this week! Could use some insight

Fellow BMW owner here, 1991 M5... Keep in mind the Rubicon has lower gearing and will be peppier especially if you go larger on the tire size. I strongly recommend the Cooper S/T Maxx if you want a more aggressive looking tire that is quiet (assuming you rotate them at each oil change).
  15. Manual transmission - what gear should I start in?

Thanks! That picture was from 2006 when it had an 8V 1.6 and 6.5:1 underdrive transfer case. Here's a more recent picture with a 16V 1.6 and quad Suzuki Katana carbs. It stall has the spring under and linked rear suspension. Next step is gonna be fuel injection.
  16. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

@sf5211 and @Toycrusher Let's move the "what gear should I be in" discussion here to not hijack this already massive thread. :) https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/manual-transmission-what-gear-should-i-start-in.66713/
  17. Manual transmission - what gear should I start in?

Moving this hear so as not to hijack another thread... Well Steve, the answer depends on the vehicle and the terrain. The motto "as slow as possible, as fast as necessary" is a good one to keep in mind. Silver Lake Dunes is a good example. There are a series of dunes and it's over 100 feet up...
  18. Regret 37s?

It's not a real world experience thing, it's a math thing. Bottom line, the larger, lighter tire will still be harder to start and stop because 1) the axle's leverage is reduced and 2) it stores more kinetic energy. Tires contribute twice to the vehicle's kinetic energy. This is the energy the...
  19. Crystal Rubi 2 Door mOds

Can we get a picture of the lower section of the seat? Those look fantastic!
  20. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Well Steve, the answer depends on the vehicle and the terrain. The motto "as slow as possible, as fast as necessary" is a good one to keep in mind. Silver Lake Dunes is a good example. There are a series of dunes and it's over 100 feet up the first one called "Test Hill." I don't care how big...
