The frame is the least of your concerns...protect the belly, diffs, LCA mounts, and rear shock mounts. If you are damaging the frame you are seriously abusing your Jeep.
Thank you for the acknowledgment. Not relevant to this thread...but two separate electrical issues, one involving the radio, the other the push button start, were resolved by disconnecting the battery.
Again - the extras are worth $10,000 extra compared to other similarly equipped models, not $20,000....But it doesn’t matter what I think if FCA can find ample buyers....
One other factor - no discounts on the 392 yet.... I priced out a 392 at $78,000...I paid $53,000 for my similarly equipped 2020 Recon which had a sticker close to $58,000. That’s not a small difference. A v8 would be fun, but the v8’s sticker is $10,000 more than it should be. I guess...
The Bronco can’t come soon enough. Jeep needs some serious competition. Aside from some buggy electronics, my wrangler has been great during the first 10 months, 7,000 mile of ownership. Unfortunately I am not optimistic about the future...just too many problem areas. Out of three used...
I took a look at mine this evening...the gas lines had a lot of movement but I can’t imagine that causing line failure like OP had. That said, why take chances. Using a couple of zip ties I loosely attached the part that was previously clipped to the gas tank skid to the fiberglass shield...
I can’t imagine getting a Jeep without AC. Who wants to drive on the highway at 75mph for 10 hours in the Midwestern summer heat without AC? Who wants to go Jeeping with buddies on an extremely hot dusty road when your fifth in line and eating their dust? Who wants to drive in loud rush hour...
Mine is the same way...noisy and a little “ticky” until warmed up. I don’t like this characteristic but it’s the nature of the beast. That said it’s amazing how well the 2.0l pulls the JL and I like it’s performance.
Sounds like a trip to the dealer is necessary. I would guess the 12V battery has weakened. The JL seams extremely vulnerable to even slightly lowered battery charge levels. Have you load tested the battery yet?
Thank you for sharing. I can see how this could become a problem, especially in snow an ice when the line could get weighted up with icy slush and mud. I too will be looking for a fix....
The electronics in the wrangler are glitchy anyway. I’ve had to disconnect my battery twice during my nine months of ownership to do a “ hard reset”. One was for an inoperable push button start, the other for no sound system volume after remote start. All has been fine since the respective...
