  1. Anybody else hyped about the Uconnect-5 update this spring?

@Spank True, but maybe at least the 2022 and newer JLs will have the new system in them
  2. Anybody else hyped about the Uconnect-5 update this spring?

The 5” uconnect head unit is possibly the weakest link in my entire vehicle, but we’re right around the corner from “five times faster speeds”. Not sure if the update will even apply to me because I have the most basic unit, but I’m hoping so. The firmware OS is just so slow and unresponsive...
  3. Top 10 things Jeep should have done WITHOUT.

Seeing as you've got a sport like me, here's what I did: I bought a set of takeoff Rubicon shocks and springs for $150, and that netted me an even 2" of lift all around. (I should add that I also bought a pair of longer FL control arms to fix the caster angle). You could toss in a tiny .5"...
  4. Top 10 things Jeep should have done WITHOUT.

I used to hate the ESS, but recently came to enjoy the mpg benefits. As long as the engine is up to temp (which it has to be for the ESS to activate) there shouldn't be *too* much wear on the startup cycle. An engine startup uses the same amount of gas as idling for 7ish seconds, and really...

    These still available? PM sent
  6. Jeep snobbery - RANT

I do feel like the Sahara trim gets treated as the awkward middle child. Too “luxurious” to fit in with the “rugged” Jeep stereotype, and no real obvious advent to buying them besides personal preference. Used sports are cheap, and get the job done for nearly half the price of a new decked out...
  7. Radio volume fluctuating

Im having the same issue, except I only listen to my phone via Bluetooth. The volume will randomly droop out of nowhere with no input or notifications. Did you ever get it figured out?

  9. Jeep Is Installing Solar Chargers at Moab And Rubicon Trail For New Hybrid Wrangler 4xe

Well considering I daily a JL and an i3 (an EV w/ modular regen braking) I think I have a little bit of experience in both subjects.
  10. Jeep Is Installing Solar Chargers at Moab And Rubicon Trail For New Hybrid Wrangler 4xe

That’s where the regenerative braking comes in. Instead of pressing the brake pads, the motors actually absorb all your inertia to recharge the battery while you slow down

  12. Any suggestions for 17x9 +12 wheel fitment on a sport with 315/70s?

It's hard to find a wheel I like that doesn't cost a fortune, and this one's perfect. It's just that the size and backspacing only comes in two configurations. I'm not a big fan of all the wheels nowadays with fake bolt patterns that are trying to look like a tank; but I also don't like big...
  13. Any suggestions for 17x9 +12 wheel fitment on a sport with 315/70s?

his wheels are the same size as the ones I’m getting. It may not seem like a lot, but that .5-1 inch difference in track width makes a huge difference in the front. The sport axles aren’t the most rugged things on earth, and I don’t want to push them past their limits with stances out 35s
  14. Any suggestions for 17x9 +12 wheel fitment on a sport with 315/70s?

I'm concerned about tucking such a large wheel so close to my control arms, and I'd be worried that at full turn, I'd be grinding rubber into my suspension. Not at all worried about fender rubbing- not planning on flexing hard enough to run into that any time soon, and I'll be taking off the...
  15. offset and backspace advice all over the place. what is correct?

Bumping this because I'm planning on running the exact same dimension wheels/tires, and i want to know if it will fit. Nobody could give a clear "yes" or "no" on whether it will rub the suspension components at full turn, because any mention of wheel offset on this forum descends into people...

  17. Class action...No Class (Wrangler Rollover Risk)

My general rule of thumb- just don’t be a dillhole about it, and you’ll probably be fine
  18. Anyone have Rocktrix RT108 wheels?

I’m gonna be completely honest with you man- these won’t be seeing many trails for the time being. I’m just worried about rubbing at full turn. I feel like putting such an extreme offset would wear out my bearings and stuff faster, so if I can fit the +12 without turning rub, I would.
  19. Anyone have Rocktrix RT108 wheels?

All of those look like people that just installed them. I’d wanna make sure that there’s no issues over time. Also if you can fit the +12 offset with a 315 and no spacer.
