Move thread if needed. Batteries are pretty routine so I thought I’d try the General Forum for visibility.

The winch I’m interested in recommends a 650cca battery. My 2.0 eTorque Sahara has a 600 cca so it looks like I need to upgrade early. Right? I plan on going to some remote areas and just in case...

Thanks all.

Are you sure it’s a 600 amp battery? My 2.0 sticker says it has a 700 amp battery included with the 2.0 engine option.

I lifted up the insulation on it and took this pic. You will need to zoom in.

My build sheet also says 600. I have seen that a 700 is available when I was looking at a Rubicon 2.0 eTorque build sheet. It had EVERYTHING. I was looking at it while researching coil spring part numbers for when I started looking for a takeoff set. It has that load securing option too. Aux, tow package, HT, steel bumpers, loaded out. I thought maybe the Aux switches got it on there. No such luck here.

I wish it was at least 650.

Anyone else have a 600cca? I see winches getting installed and figured someone has a winch calling for 650 surely when they have a 600. No?

All 2.0 eTorque come with 700cca.
You are probably just not reading the build sheet correctly. It will say 600cca at one point because that is base configuration but it gets replaced by 700cca if you optioned in the 2.0 engine.

EDIT: Sorry, missed your picture, think you uploaded it after my replies, but that is strange..

Do you have the factory towing package? I think it comes with an upgraded battery and alternator.

Like he stated already in the OP.
He has a 2.0 BSG (Belt-Start-Generator), it doesn't even have an alternator, it comes standard with 700cca battery and a generator. The towing package does not affect it.

I forgot about the stupid BSG not having an alternator. But the towing package with the 3.6 gets you a 700amp battery.

Didn't his picture above show a 600cca?

Without the towing package, my 3.6 build sheet shows a 650cca battery. Now I'll have to go look.

Not mine. Build sheet and the physical battery match. July 2019 build 2.0 with eTorque.

Can I get a factory part number off of your 650 and a 700 too please? I’ll need to upgrade for my winch unfortunately.

Interesting, this is what mine says for me. Circa 2018.

I’d like your oem battery part number if you wouldn’t mind. I’ve tried looking one up to no avail. Let’s hope it would fit with no issues.

I’ve attached the optional equipment to see if there is anything that stands out. Relatively low option Sahara I think. Maybe middle of the road from base Sahara to loaded.

Interesting indeed, I'll have a look later tonight. They might have changed it in 2019.. But 600 is really low, back in 2018, you get 650 as base, and up-gradable to 700 with options. sneaky FCA!

This is mine:

@DadJokes you can see 650 listed as "standard equipment".
