JL Hitch Length

Very confused on which hitch to get for the JL, will the longer neck Curt option align with the outside face of the bumper? Or will it project out beyond? Anyone installed either and have pictures to share from the side?

Here are the dimensions of these two per etrailer.com...looks like I need the longer one of these two options.

I pulled a camper trailer last week with the OEM hitch. I had to remove the spare so that it didn’t strike the propane tanks mounted on top to the camper’s hitch at full turn. I wish that the receiver had protruded a little more.

I’d recommend the longer one.

Ordered the longer Curt. I will add pictures once I get it installed.

Late to the party, but I ordered the longer one to get trailer coupler out from under spare . It's the Goldilocks Length, not so far as to hit shins, not so short as to put coupler under tire...

Yeah the longer hitch (13392) is the only option after installing it. It’s flush with the bumper. Cannot imagine one any shorter.

You can also get an extension. I bought a bike carrier but because of the tire it didn’t work. I bought a 12” extension from Harbor Freight. Works like a charm.

I didn't go for an extension, as it's one more piece to keep track of, nails the shins, and changes leverage for tongue weight. I can see for some uses, but keep track of overhang length,avoid "running aground"
