Just a note, at least in Tennessee, you have to pay tax on the sales price/value (and they will check it against KBB if it seems out of line) when you register the vehicle... In TN, plan on roughly 10% of the selling price in taxes...

AZ collects the dealer sales tax (new and used, not private party) plus every year of registration. Probably in the $6-700 range since my new 2500 diesel is $750ish.

Hey...FYI...Sales tax on a vehicle purchase in TN is 7%. If you trade in a vehicle, the tax is applied to the difference in price of new vehicle.

Correct, however, you pay 9.5% on the first $3,850 (give or take), plus tags, title, and fees... Best to figure roughly 10% to be safe in TN. And a private party sale wouldn't qualify for trade credit unfortunately.

Yeah...that's why I said "if you trade in a vehicle", you pay tax on the difference.

If you buy a vehicle private party in TN for $30k, total cost of tax, title, registration + fees is approx $2,250(7.5%)

Not in a rush to sell, but due to some unforeseen circumstances my ability to use the Jeep as I planned Is no longer possible.

I wanted to give anyone on here a chance at a great vehicle for much cheaper than you can buy and build yourself from a dealership, or even buy used. I really like the jeep, but unfortunately need something easier to get in and out of, and with an upcoming surgery I will not be able to drive for 6+ months.

If you are in AZ, buying from an individual will also save sales tax making it an even better deal.

MSRP Was right under 54k, and there well is over $12k in parts and labor added. In AZ add another 4-5k sales tax you will not pay if you buy from a private party.

It is still for sale. I will be out of town for a few weeks but once back i'll let you know. I may end up trading it in as the local dealer made me a really good offer when the steering box tsb was being done. unfortunately they had nothing on the lot I wanted so I passed. with the car shortage they could not even locate what I was looking for. Since I am not in a rush I can wait until I find a buyer or a dealer gets what i'm looking for.
