Planning to do any tailgate reinforcement or just going to let it ride?

Finally got the MetalCloak 2.5" GC w/ Rocksports, 37x12.5x17 Toyo MTs and Icon Alphas installed. Drives like, if not better than, stock. Very happy with this setup. Next up? Tom Woods front driveshaft, Zeon 10-s, PowerTank and more MC underarmor. Oh, and step sliders as soon as I get the guts to take those dreaded body mounts off.

The body mounts are easy as long as you loosen and and tighten as much as you loosen in very small increments, never ever ever use an impact gun or a large breaker bar!!! A little heat wouldn’t hurt either, maybe an induction heater. It can be done easily without breaking as long as you follow my advice. I have installed several sets of sliders and I have never broken a body mount, you only have to loosen them about half an inch anyways, not fully removed.

might just be the angle of the photo. To me it looks like the back wheel is shifted forward closer to the driver rear fender.

Its not the angle of the photo. It still has the factory control arms, which are now too short causing the front and rear axles to shift closer to each other. Adjustable control arms set a certain amount longer than stock will recenter the axles in the wheelwells and allow caster and pinion adjustability.

Funny how no two Jeeps are alike. I have the same lift with no off center issues that I thought I would have. I have adjustable front and rear UCA’s and LCA’s but didn’t feel the need to make any adjustments other than the fronts for caster and pinion.

Definitely not the angle, the body went up while the axle stayed in the same spot. You need adjustable lower control arms to fix that.

I picked her (Ruby Lee) up on October 15th and have finally got her just the way I want her..... for now ;-) She's come a long way in a short time from stock, in the 1st pic the day of pickup.

Good point.

Every time I think I should just go with 35’s, I see some 37’s and I think... that’s what I really want. But, it seems 37’s open up a whole new set of issues and a lot of additional stress throughout the suspension and drive train.
Well, my 35” Ridge Grapplers weight more then the 37” Ko2’s so the weight theory is negligible. What it comes down to is if you can live with the steeper gear ratio, but the eight speed transmission really soaks up 37’s nicely. The weight is not really as big of an issue as some make it as long as you choose the right tire wheel combo. With that, said even 35s require additional steering modifications and should be done regardless. One of the very first things I did was go Steer Smarts linkages and dump the factory toothpicks. Here’s my current set up on 35’s, 37‘s on the way. I wanted to wait until my suspension and steering was complete before I went 37’s, if I have to re-gear down the line, oh well!!

How well do those Toyos perform in the snow? How's the road noise?
