Good news

You can use your car key to lock/unlock it, right?

What do you mean by it "learns" the car key?

It means you can insert your ignition key at first time. Going forward you can use it to lock/unlock. So you don’t need to carry an addition key for it.

OK. In a similar note: A builder was working in our house. He had a key. When he was finished he gave us a key. A different key. I put the key in the lock and it changes the tumbler. My key works. The builder inserts his key and it no longer works.

Modern locks are made by clever people!

Finally, my JL Hood Lock has arrived :)

It has only taken six months. The guy at Bolt Lock Australia was kind enough to throw in a few Bolt accessories to sweeten the deal.

I have tested the lock before installation. It has 'learned' my Jeep key, and the operation of the lock is smooth and easy to use. The key can be removed from the lock in both open and closed positions (quarter turn difference), allowing me to decide whether I leave the bonnet locked or unlocked.

The lock comes complete with the central grill piece, rivets and clips for a neat installation.

I got mine as well. But I haven’t open the box. My car is with dealer.... Do I need to buy additional tool for installation? I will have a try to install on this weekend.

The instructions say you need;
* Torx T20 screwdriver
* Flathead screwdriver (Removing trim plugs. New ones in the kit)
* Rivet Gun (The rivets are 1/4 inch)
