Crater Lake Trip in December. Tips?

Hi all,

For those of you who are local to or familiar with the Willamette Pass, Crater lake, and Crescent areas, my friends and I (from Portland) have rented a cabin up there during the end of December. We're hoping to explore the area in the regions I mentioned above, but hear that there are going to be pretty heavy snows and icy conditions. C

I have a 2018 JLUR, completely stock and without even a winch. How would you guys recommend we gear up? Open to all suggestions and planning to do everything we can over the next 2 weeks to make this a safe trip.

how was the trip? wished i had seen this previously, love the crescent area. sometimes the diamond lake hwy out of Roseburg is easier snow drive than the Willamette pass, u can access crater north or south rim roads from there and it isn't too far from crescent overall, but it does add a few miles to your drive,
interesting drive is out of cottage grove by bohemia mines and sharps creek over to steamboat creek and hit the diamond lake hwy there but make sure you have proper map for the crossover from sharps creek to martins creek
