Installed 275/70R18 BFG K02's on my 2018 JLUS's stock 18"x7.5" rims. No rub, no spacing, no lift. Fit great. Anything in 18" rims is forced into load type E as a LT tire is required (Lite Truck) but the K02's don't feel much different from the stock duelers and they look awesome. No difference in noise, bit bouncier ride which is fine. Only issue is the speedometer is slightly off and could be recalibrated but dealers are saying that's like $300 so we'll see on that one. I've attached a chart to show the speedometer difference when upgrading to this size tire from stock. Thanks to everyone in this thread helping a newb out! Your input has been much appreciated.

Your Sahara looks awesome with the bigger KO2s on the stock rims!

Originally I was planning to replace the shiny 18” wheels with a set of black 17” wheels, but once I got the Jeep I realized how gorgeous the machined Sahara wheels really are. So now I’m looking to mount bigger tires on the stock Sahara wheels.

BTW, instead of paying anything to the dealer, you can get an AEV ProCal Snap on eBay for $90. It will allow you to calibrate the speedo correctly for larger tires.

@offset_98 Looks great - especially with that blue.

Who's the tire mfg?

Did you have to do wheel spacers to prevent suspension rub?

JL18 (Tom) was told by his installer that 295/70R18 would rub and thus installed 1.25" wheel spacers (plus a Daystar 2" lift) which sits just outside the fender flare perfectly IMHO.

Your R17 is a 33" tire while Tom's R18 on stock Sahara wheels is a 34" tire so I was just curious if the 1" height diff might be the point of suspension rub.

Thanks,

Peye

I backed down off of the idea of going 275/70/18 with the stock wheels and went down to a rubicon 17 I found online that I couldn’t pass up and did 295/70/17. I have no rubbing, likely because I went down to the 17. The tires are Yokohama Geolander G003. I also have no spacers but do have a spacer lift for looks not function. Overall I’m at like a 33.6.

Just had the 275/70R18 K02s put on today. The stock Dueler H/Ts were horrible in the snow. Couldn't be happier with the way these look.

I had the same 275/70/18's put on Monday during the Black Friday Sale at Discount Tire ($100 back) Love the look of my new Punk'n and feels more solid going down the road. Just a tad bit rougher ride since it's a "E" rated tire but very happy with the purchase.

Ok ..... I have a 2019 Sahara and wanted meatier tires without new rims. I’m searched for hours in the forums looking for pics so I wanted to add my new pics to the thread for others that may be debating this as well.

I went with Nitto Ridge 275/70/18. Just a little over 33” tire size.

Ive had them for a few days and love them! They are much larger in person then they look in photos. They ride is definitely more bouncy but that makes it more fun! I would use the word bouncy.... not bumpy. They are NOT loud at all.

I went with the Nitto Ridge because they seemed to offer the most aggressive look. I would recommend this set up 100%.

What psi do you have them at. Maybe it is the angle of the pic, but they look super inflated

It does; however, with the additional width of the wheel and tire (9” wheel and 11.5” tire) it sill ends up about about 1.5”-2.0” beyond the fender.
I’m scrolling through old posts and saw your post about the Nittos on your Sahara. I’m looking at the same setup. How are they performing for you? Have you had them off road at all with out any lift? Thanks

I can't help you with stock rims, but here's what mine look like with 285/70/R17 KO2's (which I believe are the same as the Rubicon stock tires/wheels). Yours (275/70R18) will be about half an inch bigger. Yours should be fine, but when I researched my size it was really close. They're fine for light off roading, but you could possibly expect some rubbing if you want to do anything serious.

I have 35's on my JL, no lift. These wheels have a -12 off set, so they stick out, don't listen to people who say they'll rub on a speed bump, I've climbed on some big stuff just to test it, they won't rub. You would have to disconnect and get really serious before you'll have any issue. I've owned many Jeeps, right now I have 5, I love this set up. Rides like it did the day I picked it up!

285/65/18? No rubbing with stock wheels and no lift or leveling kit?

I’m debating on going from 18s stock Sahara wheels to 17s Rubi take offs ...anyone think that just buying larger tires gives you the look you wanted on stock ? Not a huge fan of the Sahara wheels

I love the Rubi wheels over the Sahara’s however I also saw someone powder coated there’s which looked great ... but I’m going 35s which mean lift etc ... Anyone have any pics of the rubi wheels with largest 17” tire they can run on stock setup ?

I like the look of larger tires with a somewhat offset from the fenders
