If you've tried hydrosilex, let me know about your experiences. If I'm going to wash this beast weekly, a wax or ceramic-like product will help.

While that certainly looks more thorough, it doesn't really work with my timetable. I like the idea of spraying something on, wiping it off and having the vehicle protected. Where I wash my car is pretty much in direct sunlight at all times. Also, I have two kids and a wife, so not sure how much time i have to devote to clay then treatment.

Yea I totally get it. My wife always tells me I find no joy in anything. Except for washing and detailing my cars lol. So that’s why I went with the more thorough product. Give me a 6pack and some tunes in the garage and I’m a happy guy. I will be most likely buying the hydrosilex to use as a quick detailer to help build up protection.

It’s a good product. I’ve tried it and liked it.
A similar product I like even better for its insane shine is “High Gloss” from a German Company called Polish Angel. It has such a glowing shine (dark colors anyway) that I always smile with how great it looks for so little effort. Feels like cheating.

Their stuff looks great. So with the High Gloss did you use a sealer first? Looks like the web site says to use in conjuntion with a sealer.

Edit: Their Rapidwaxx looks awesome too, really, really easy.

I’ve used it multiple ways..........

I have used it as a sacrificial top coat on top of both a ceramic coating (Miyabi coat from Kamikaze) and a sealant (Wolfgang Sealant). In both cases it was easy to apply and gave great results.

For a few months on my Toyota Tacoma it was the only oroeuxtvin the paint (no sealant or coating layer underneath). It looked good in this capacity too, but anal part of me ultimately made me put a coating underneath it as well.

I’ve never used the Polish Angel coatings as a base layer for the High gloss but they have a big following and everything I read from those who have done it is very positive.

I have used "HydroSilex Recharge – Universal Hydrophobic Coating Finish Spray" for my car. Just awesome looking. Applying this coating on your car allows you to get a super smooth coating with a super glossy look.
Special Features of the product is :
  1. Usable on almost all types of surfaces.
  2. Instantly becomes hydrophobic, just after applying on the surface.
  3. It can be used as the finish of other coating s too.
I have checked this review article before buy. You can all details about Hydrosilex. Hope you will get your point.

I do spend 2 hours every 6 to 8 month doing this... I use https://usa.gtechniq.com and the following steps:

Wash with good vehicle soap in shade no water spots and dry with this amazing cloth.
https://usa.gtechniq.com/products/auto/mf4-diamond-sandwich-microfibre-drying-towel

Then spray and wipe with Panel Wipe to clean off old soap and wax which I only use wax as a fixer. This also allows me to see if I need to use a clay bar.
https://usa.gtechniq.com/products/auto/perfect/exterior/paint/panel-wipe

Now the final product is my protection. Really great goes on quick and easy on all surfaces not windows.
https://usa.gtechniq.com/products/auto/perfect/exterior/paint/c2-liquid-crystal

Read all the info on the above links... they have kits and special to pick from...
https://usa.gtechniq.com/products/auto/

Both my Jeeping buddy and I did this to our JLR and JLRU from day one new Jeeps. He claimed that it stopped small branches to scratches not allowing items damaging the clear coat finish.

For my rubber and seals I use Vera Shine.
https://www.nanoskinusa.com/products/vera-shine-silicone-free-dressing-protectant

Now I did not do EXO and C1 Crystal Lacquer as it labor intense, hard to do or redo and offers only more work for a larger lasting coating. https://usa.gtechniq.com/products/auto/exo-and-c1-crystal-lacquer

I hope this will help others figure out what they want to do...
