Ok, compressor fixed and I decided to give it another try under the hood. With a heat shield and air filters relocated.
Love this - I am getting so much good info! I plan to remount using the new bracket, now I want to relocate the filters and add a valve splitter so it goes to my UpDownAir system and has a separate connector for a regular air hose. That way I can help my fellow Jeepers air up as needed. Always looking for improvements :)

That looks great. However, the ARB manual has restrictions on how long the intake extensions can be based on the ID of the extension hoses. By going down first and then back up, youā€™re well past their recommendations. At the very least, I would exit the compressor strait up to lessen the overall length as much as possible.

Or increase the inner diameter of the hose.

Really? Do you have the manual page by chance? I am curious why?

I can shorten them a bit by routing upwards but I was trying to make it cleaner and away from the heat.
Your issues are likely not caused by intake air temperature anyway. Your failure was likely from the motor getting heat-soaked.

Up here we are in and around way to much water for me to risk an underhood mount. I'm really digging the seat mount though....may have to take the plunge on a new compressor.

Jeep looks great Mantacon, I may have to powder coat my rings after seeing that thing. :like:

I have an ARB Dual Compressor, I am curious how people are mounting it in a JL?

<EDITED WITH UPDATED THREAD INFO>

MORE bracket
Con: I am not that happy about the spot for when I have the hard top off...

Up Down Air skid mount

Innovative JK Products
Con: Due to the air vent, it is mounted really far back... fear my kids will kick it all day

American Adventure Lab
Con: I usually have a trunk full of stuff when wheeling, so getting access to the under storage would be annoying

Have you ever mounted a compressor and never called it again? Be honest.
