Was sitting at a tailgate, eating and drinking literally on my jeep. Thought.....my ol molle bags from my JK have to fit on the jl. I have thought this before, but was too worried about breaking something. Little confidence from my buddy Jim beam fixed that.

You can hold a lot of things on a good Molle panel that would probably overstress the plastic tailgate panel.

Will Mr. Beam help you remove them without breaking something? ;)

I’m intrigued by this, as I have some MOLLE gear I purchased while active duty.

Removal of the panel is simple and if you attach a MOLLE NET-you can SECURE the net and panel with long sheetmetal screws --and use the TAILGATE limit BKT to attach the far left mid section of the net--it's not going anywhere !

I think removal would be easy. And honestly, if it broke I would then add a table

Actually, having MOLLE bags here was the original intent by the JL engineers....they just did a shit job of implementing it.

Luckily, they did a great job of supplying underlying mounts for securing a proper panel or table. If you are going to do it though, I would steer away from the unsupported fabric options, meaning, if they don't have at least a firm support panel sandwiched within the fabric....they will sag (and probably will anyway with time because it's the nature of the beast).

If you want to use just the plastic panel....a rip-away MOLLE bag is your answer. I would also supplement the mounting with zip-ties as there is no way that you will be able to get a proper secure lacing of the straps done.
