Here's one of the best looking 2 door with 37's on this forum.
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...hose-2-door-jl-pics.11242/page-28#post-623582

I got inspired by it and ordered same tires earlier this week for my 2door JL sport manual.
That's a good lookin Jeep with the right proportions!

To me, the thing that makes a 2 door with 37s look like a tonka truck is the offset. As long as you can keep 37s tucked under the fenders more I don't think it looks bad.

Do Rubicons with manual transmissions not take well to 37’s?
I think the problem is mostly offroad with the manual. I ran stock gears for a while with my 6spd(4dr) with both 37s and 40s. With the 40s 6th gear was useless. I did like the longer first gear with the bigger tires, but offroad crawling in 4lo is what made me feel the need to change before the next trip.

My business partner's relatively lightweight 2 door(6spd) with 37s feels suprisingly nice on road and 6th gear is usable. I'm not sure if it is the lighter weight, but it feels completely different than my 4dr pig.

Depends on what your goal is for the Jeep and the amount of lift to make it look proportional. I prefer the wheels and tires poke a bit. I want the wheels and tires to be scrubbing the side of the mountain, not my fenders. 3.5" backspacing on a 9" wheel is a bit much for me, but I've seen some rigs up close lifted 3-4" and it looks good.

Hey,

In the near future I will be embarking on a JL build. From a cost perspective, I'd like to focus on a 2 door wrangler.

I'm going back and forth on 35" or 37" tires. I know the 37s may require more work, which I'm fine with that.

My biggest concern...will a 2 door wrangler with 37s look too Tonka toyish? Anyone have pics to share?

The goal is to do a very mild degree of off-roading...

Thanks
Id say go for it, I have way too many hobbies so budget is Always a problem lol. My budget build is the Teraflex ST1 and the smallish BFG KM3s in 37s. Works well with the short lift. TeraFlex ST1 is labeled to be a 1.5" lift but the front spacer is a 1" for the 2dr and 1.5" for the rear to help with the reverse rake. Id have to say its a true 1" lift imho. Im content with Blue trails so we are alike, anything more Ill just beat on the Can Am. Here are a couple pics. GL and post up some pics

I have “35s” more like 34” tall though

Mines a sport, so dana 30 front axle.

Right now I plan to regear it to 4.56 and add a real lift (i have rubicon springs and shocks for a lift now)

I like to have fun and wheel hard and think 37s would be to much for a dana 30 in my case so ill be sticking with 35s for awhile.

My list is regear, winch, rubicon fenders as im rubbing the fenders pretty bad and its not fully bumped

PLEASE share with the class what wheels those are. Those wheels look sweet and I know of a certain blue JLR that needs some new wheels... ;-)

At the time of that picture he only had a Rough Country 2.5" Spacer lift. He now has 40's with coilovers, long arms etc.

I went 35’s but I also only did a 1” lift for a low center of gravity build . No way I could have put 37’s on with this setup. I do like to keep some mpg and it still drives nice on Hwy. It also depends if you go sport like mine or rubicon I feel like The Rubi could do a 37 easier

If you lift up a 4 door enough, it too will look ridiculous. I don't think the pictures here are all that bad. xD

That said when people lift them too much I start thinking "adult high chair" lol.
