Sorry Bro. Yep, I was confused for a minute there. You must be confused...a 9" wide wheel with 0 offset has 5" of backspacing....not 4.5 as you wrote.

That sounds about right. I'm on stock rims with the same tire and it sits to far in, Going to 38's and likely going the same size rim you are. Remember the outer bulge is not the tread. I just did a quick look and from tread to bulge is about 3/4 inch so I'm subtracting that from the 2.5 and getting 1 3/4 inches past the flares. After reading this entire thread like 3 times I think I know the answer but wanted to check to see if anyone is running a similar setup and what they thought, pics, etc.........
I want to put KO2s 315/70x17 on 8.5" rims that have -6 offset and 4.5 back spacing. JL Rubicon with 2.5" mopar lift.
By my calculations I will be 2.6" farther out than the stock 33s that are on there now.
Is that sticking out too far? What effect will it have? Concerns?
Thanks for any feedback.
Nice wheels I'm looking for -44 offset for my Wrangler but are concerned about sticking out too much, what's the offset on yours, -18 or -44?Clear fine now that I have the lift on
I have -6 offset on 9" rims with 35/12.50s and although I like the look of my rims, I really don't like how the tires stick out. Also, I went through a little mud puddle the other day (not fast) and the whole side of the Jeep was sprayed. I couldn't take it anymore so last night I ordered some AEV +25 offset wheels. I don't love the way they look, but from the pictures I have seen on this forum, they seem to do a good job of bringing the tires back in. From the calculator that I found online (https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/), it seems like they will bring the inner wall of the tire to almost exactly where the stock tire would be. Also, they use the stock lug nuts and were designed with our back-up camera in mind. My current wheels get in the way of the camera a bit, not too bad though. AEV is having a sale, buy 4 get one free, I think it is only good until the 9th. Northridge Offroad is where I ordered them from. Good LuckAfter reading this entire thread like 3 times I think I know the answer but wanted to check to see if anyone is running a similar setup and what they thought, pics, etc.........

Here’s a 37x12.5x70 (9”)Let’s see pics of 9” wide wheel, -12 offset and 4.5 backspacing with a 12.5 35” tire.
Sorry, -15 offsetHere’s a 37x12.5x70 (9”)
I'm running 8.5 +10 on 295/70s so your setup would be about 1/4" in from mine at the fendersso i am looking at the Ultra Hunter +10 offset (17x9) paired with 285/70R17 Toyo OC AT3. I run the Sahara, so the axle is slightly shorter than the Rubicon axle.
If I am understanding correctly, the wheel itself will be 1.33" further out than the +44.25mm stock tire + the tire sidewall bulge, so we're looking at about 1.5-2" outside the fender?
Does that math seem right? are we closer to 2" than 1.5"?
Rubicon doesn’t help me that much since my axles aren’t as wide. I think I am in the 0 to +10 range. Seems to put me about 1.5-2” outside stock. Front tires have about 3/4 inside fender now, so may be about what I need to stay legal here
17x9 -6 offset
