...still waiting
I cant see where that would add stress to the new tailgate ....

some of the 35's with new rims could total 100lbs which still doesnt wave a warning flag to me

I'm definitely no expert. And I'm sure to get lit up for posting on a thread. But I read somewhere that the weight limit was like 85 pounds or something without reinforced tailgate. The NITTO Ridge 35X12.5R20s that I plan on installing are almost 74 pounds by themselves. Add the rim (like 40-45 pounds) and it's quite a bit more...

My buddy elected to not go with the reinforced tailgate on his JK and now his hinge makes a terrible noise when swinging open...

Thanks for everyone’s help on here! Decided to try out the Nitto 35s with the 2inch lift. May end up switching to 37s later.
Those look perfect. I don't care for the full stuffed look.

I went with the rough country 2.5in spacer kit for now. It was only like 179 dollars. I wanted to wait a little while for all the lifts to come out and then decide which one I wanted so I’d have more choices.

Did you do it yourself? If so, how long did it take you?

That is the Jeep I ordered. Also priced out the Nitto's since the BFG are sold out everywhere in the 35in size. Looks great. Now I just need my jeep!

Guys, there is nothing wrong with a spacer lift. I've run a 2" spacer on my JK for somewhere around 70k miles and have done LOTS of off roading with it, including some very challenging rock crawling in Moab and WIndrock, TN. I'm not sure why people seem to look at it as not as good or as a stop-gap. My JK flexes just as much as 2" lifts that come with the full length springs.

Thanks everyone!

DanW, I think spacer lifts are enough for 95% of Wrangler owners. Shit, my jeep drives nearly as good now as it did at the factory height without the spacers. The main difference in ride being the E-Rated tires running 32psi( I'd like to air down to 25-28psi when a flashcal becomes available as I have nowhere near a flat contact patch.)
Me, I always like to go with longer springs and match the shock length to where my bump stops(Whichever size I need to clear my tires) bottom out. Most "kits" out there don't give you optimal travel for your specific setup. I've always ended up with 11" or so shock travel on my JK's with 37's. I just like the get as much travel as I can out of my suspension at any given height/tire setup.
I was a little dissapointed in the travel of the Mopar kit I recently installed for a friend/customer. The front only had 8-1/2" of shock travel, while the rear was decent at 9-3/8"(And yes, it had the dreaded spring bow.) They advertise it as a 2" lift, but it sure seemed to get more than 2".

Nice looking setup. Can you tell me the overall height of your jeep with that setup. Trying to see if I can still fit in my garage or not once I get mine installed.
