I got my Jeep back today after having this TSB performed. I have a 500 mile trip tomorrow so I’ll know by the end of the day if the AC is performing normally or not.

It seemed somewhat better, but it still blows warmer air every 15 minutes or so when using the AC set on recirculate. It doesn’t blow nearly as blazing hot as it did before, but when in recirc it blows warmer air every 15 min or so. More Texas summer than Satans breath now. It doesn’t do it when the AC is set to fresh air. And it stops immediately if I cycle the recirc button off and right back on.
Mark, thanks but I don’t think that there’s anything you can actually do to help. They performed the TSB. It just sucks and doesn’t fix the problem completely. There’s no point in getting you guys involved because they did all they know how to do.

Hi Chocolate Thunder,Sure. OK.
What did they do to prevent the hot air while A/C was on. thanksI got my Jeep back today after having this TSB performed. I have a 500 mile trip tomorrow so I’ll know by the end of the day if the AC is performing normally or not.
No idea. Supposedly a computer flash. It’s better, but still happens (not as severely) when in recirc mode. Not on fresh air. What did they do to prevent the hot air while A/C was on. thanks
Hi CarbonSteel,I am glad that I found this thread--this has happened multiple times in my JLUR and I was scratching my head as to the reason. I have the A/C set on "manual" and low and it randomly blasts hot air from under the dash. Splitting the airflow between the regular dash vents and footwell vents seems to stop it, but that is not efficient for combating Texas heat.
My question is -- this TSB states it is for Jeeps built on or before December 28, 2018 (MDH 1228XX) equipped with Instrument Panel Parts Module (Sales Code X81). While I am not sure about the IPPM, my Jeep was definitely built after 12/28/2018.
Am I safe in assuming that it still applies?
PM inbound and if this TSB does not apply, then there is another issue because I definitely experience this problem in my Jeep.Hi CarbonSteel,
If you would like to be send us a PM with your VIN, we would be happy to let you know if this TSB applies to your VIN.

Hi John,We had this issue in our 2018 JL 2 Dr. Applied the TSB to no avail. Took it to a second dealer who also applied a “newer and better” computer flash, again to no avail. Traded in to a 2020 JLU Sport S, built 9/19, and guess what— Same issue! We never push the recirc button when running the a/c, so it happens whether or not we are in fresh air mode. Pushing the recirc button twice makes it go away, at least temporarily. Not sure what to do.
