@Goin2drt Any chance you can post some pictures of where your Invisicord taps into the oem harness? I tried mine from every angle and can't seem to make a good connection to get power. Hopefully i'm just doing something wrong. Seeing yours would be very helpful, thanks!
Did you ever get this figured out? Interested in the photos as well!

I always hard wire a radar detector in all my cars so the Wrangler was no different. Vehicle is a JLUR in case that matters as I tapped into wires at mirror.

Parts needed
Invisicord - http://www.invisicord.com/order.html
Windshield mount. Make sure you get the one right for your detector - https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Permanent-Windshield-Mount-for-Escort-and-Beltronic-Radar-Detectors-EP-R/123196916615?hash=item1caf1bc387:g:z6cAAOSwyQtVlyeK&_sacat=0&_nkw=escort+windshield+mount&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313

Right underneath the stem of the mirror there is a place to put in a screwdriver and pop the back plastic piece off. Pink wire top plug as seen in pics is the switched hot and black is negative. Plug in the invisicord into the plug. Replace the back plastic piece and run the wire out up the top opening

I do like it. I have had the Valentine and I prefer these. I have them in both our cars and find them to be reliable with very limited false alarms. It also is helpful if your area LEOs use KA band. Lot less false alarms.

I realize I'm reviving an old post, but couldn't find anything newer. I can't get power to my radar detector and I've tried keeping the ground inserted in the black plug and the red in all the other spots on the top AND bottom of this wiring.

What am I doing wrong? I've used the largest prongs and been able to push them in fully. My wiring does look different than the OP's.

I got it figured out. What worked is using the bottom spots on the adapter and using the taps to connect black to black and red to red and pushing the taps in super hard.

Putting the rearview mirror housing back on is a hassle too.

Order this - https://www.amazon.com/MTX-1015-Overall-Patented-Detector-Military/dp/B00L2SVV2U Use the longest flat tips. Just be carfeul when jamming it all back in as the taps are fragile. Zip tie or tape.
I have tried a few diff wiretaps and was unable to get power to my radar. I assume the pins might not have been long enough. before I buy this one and bc I have a few here, would using a t-tap connected to these wires work, instead of pushing them into the slots.

Yes you could. You will just see them and may not be able to hide them well.

I have been running with / using Val 1's since 1994 !

I wired my current Valentine 1 to Aux 4. Switch is set-up so it turns ON with ignition..

I travel lots through a couple of States that you can get into deep chitt using a radar detector. IF, I get inkling Leos are around, I can quickly turn the Val 1 off...

Also, IF I start getting an annoying false positive, I can also turn off for a few min. lets say and easily turn back on.

I travel thousands of miles yearly on the interstates....
