I was looking at used Wranglers but ended up buying a new one. I noticed that even on Wranglers that were only a few years old the hinges were rusting. The paint was turning white and bubbling up, etc.

Would plasti dip protect them from rusting? Anyone try it?

Thanks!

I can almost guarantee that that will not help. The doors and hood are corroding from the inside out. But it may cover it up so you won't notice it. I bought my 2018 JL in August 2018 and I noticed there was a nickel-sized area of corrosion in May 2019. It takes only a few months to start.

Try using Turtle Wax spray wax on a regular basis or coat them with Line-X.

Looks like it's all caused by dissimilar metals..
(Remember Chemistry class...)
I haven't noticed it yet, but hoping it doesn't occur... Coming up on the first winter season in beautiful OHIO.... Looking forward to the salt and brine (NOT!)

Yes it's covered. Where hinges attach to doors usually start to bubble inside 6 months. Thus far no known permanent fix, new doors/paint and it happens again inside 12 months.

I suspect it's the next class action we see against FCA in a year or so.
