Hell its cheap. I just ordered one to see just how cheap.........

And if it’s any good, I will applaud them for making something that’s affordable and not gouging it’s customers for something so simple. And if it’s crap, I’ll let them know too.

Ordered and installed last week. Had the new 35" wit offset 9" wheels yesterday. No flex, very stable. Had to make some modification to the grommet for the CB antenna wire but worth it.

Show us your new wheels/tires. Pictures???

Do the tires stick past the fenders, and if so, how much?

Just got my new JLRU last week. Itching to change tires. I like the Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35" x 12.5" x17" What did you get?

Wheels are 17x9x-6mm
Loved the OEM BFGs so I stuck with the same.. BFG KO2 - 315/70/17 113
Yes they protrude front and rear (slightly more on driver's side as I didn't get the track bar in yet.)

I installed the reinforcement plate.
I have 33in tires but my gate was flexing a bit and sand was going between the edge of the gate and the hinges generating noise.
No way I was going to spend the cost for the mopar one, i can buy 10 RC for the same cost.

CONS
-The plate was scratch a bit, i had to spray bed liner...no big deal, but bolts can be tape inside the box instead of shipping in a loose bag.
-Bolts will rust overtime, black bolts would have been a plus.

PROS
-The hinge spacers are long enough to avoid the plate touching the hinge paint.
-It did add more rigidity to the gate and remove torsional movement.
-It’s one part instead of one reinforcement with two spacers (mopar).
-The cost is realistic.
-Hinge bolts are long enough to add accessories.

Improvement
-I add tape to protect the paint on the tire carrier area.
-Use one bolt of the tire carrier to help you with the alignment of the the hinge bolt and the carrier hole.

Overall great product and at that price if it rust i’ll just buy another one.

I have 35s on my Jeep and I have put on the RC relocation kit. The door shakes when bump are hit while driving. I have been looking at tailgate reinforcement options until I decide on bumper or bumper with tire carrier. Has anyone added the RC tailgate reinforcement yet?

Thanks in advance.
Won't the 35" spare rest gently on top of the bumper (assuming you have the steel bumper)? Looks like this would give you the best support instead of 100% of the spare's weight on the tailgate, reinforced or not. Just inquiring because I want to change my JLRU tires to 35" as well.

I installed mine last week. Installation was easy. I was not having any problems, so this was more of a preventative measure. I am happy with it though, and seems to be a good value compared to other options.

Has anyone else installed this yet? How does it compare to the mopar tailgate reinforcement? If they serve the same purpose, it appears you can't go wrong with this one.

Ya know in looking at the RC vs the Redrock, the latter makes more sense to me only because the RC appears to be mostly a flat plate? I haven't handled the RC so I could be wrong, but the Redrock (which I have) runs channel over the hinge plates. It's a shallow channel for sure but still way more rigid than flat plate.

The RC is well reviewed but if I were choosing based upon the pics and intended outcome, the Redrock appears to be the option that would have greater rigidity

I dropped off a ledge in Moab big enough to catch my 38" spare. It put a nice wrinkle in the tg but I'm sure damage would have been much worse without the Redrock kit stiffening the gate somewhat.

Not saying the RC would have fared any better or worse as I haven't actually touched the RC kit in person.

My damage was just an inward crease that made for an annoying warble, I finally drilled a big hole inside and pounded it out (poorly - there's a reason I'm not a body man!). But I'm happy as the gate is quiet again LOL
