OK....I got some time before I want to take delivery.....so I am going to order a new Rubi on Tuesday. Due to a few other things going on....I dont need this vehicle until right after Christmas. I got a good salesman and dealership that will treat me fairly (10% off MSRP or more) so I think we can make a fair deal. No trade deal.....and I will take advantage of some lower prices for low cost finance (for a few months) then pay it off.
I'm not into hard-core off roading and rock crawling.....but I will do mostly off-road ghost towns and gold mining trails here in AZ that are reasonable and fun with a few friends.....and likely participate in a few group runs to some of these destinations. Not opposed to riding some rock trails along the way....as long as I don't damage the vehicle or get into roll-over situations, etc. Also like to do some hunting, target shooting and exploring in the desert. I could likely get along with less vehicle for my needs.....but why? I do like the capability of the Rubi to handle come what may drives. I plan to add aftermarket bumpers and a winch and a few other basic mods as time permits.
Here is what I am planning to buy:
Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited with Penstar V6 and 8 speed AT.
Silver Billet Metallic
Std Black Wheels and std BSW Off Road Tires - (may upgrade to 35" tires and add a lift in the future).
Sky One Touch Power top. (this feature is made for me)
Leather Bucket Seats (black)
8.4" Nav and Alpine premium sound pkg. Nice.
Safety and Security system w/ remote start
Keyless entry
Trailer tow and HD Electrical pkg (w switches)
Safety Group
LED Lighting group
Cold Weather Group
4.10 gears
Last order issue hanging for me at this point is........Still on the fence on body colored fenders....but I think I like the contrasts and durability of this black fenders combo. Keeps everything black and siver.....and to my eye is great. Likely no right or wrong here. I've not been a big detailing guy......so these fenders allow me a bit of scratch freedom. :D
I'd appreciate any advice on things I am missing or may have overthought? The MSRP with shipping is going to be about $57,050 with freight.....and I think my price will be about $51 k before tax and license.
Suggestions are welcome. Thanks for any input.
