Hi folks.

New to this forum, new to Jeep Wrangler.

Bought a new 2019 Sahara. I noticed the door check bracket severely corroded. Both front doors, but NOT the back doors or the tailgate.

I’ll go to the dealer. In the mean time, anyone experienced this also?

Thank you in advance,
Peter

Is it just the bracket or is it on the door jamb also? That does look like salt corrosion. That is aluminum? I assumed that bracket was steel.

Looks like some sort of a galvanic defect on the check assembly? The bolts on the check assembly on the door side are also powdery and corroding.

Door jamb is fine (for now perhaps). Need fixing very soon tho.

Wow.. this is really odd. Be interested to hear what the dealer says and does. Wish I could even guess how it got like that but I suspect it had to be like that for a while and how it got this far is nuts.

This is the other end of the assembly (door side)

Really makes me concerned if there is anywhere else on the vehicle where this may be happening. Take a good look over everywhere like the hood, rear door , underneath, engine bay, etc. for similar issues. Even if you lived near the beach this should not progress like this on a new vehicle and in those spots is just odd.

That’s awful for such a new vehicle. Makes me wonder what sort of terrible environment your Jeep has been in.

Yeah seriously... reminds me of James Cameron’s real-life Titanic footage...
