Anyone compare these to the Mastercraft MXT? Also a tire that seems to get great review and they are very similar price and weight

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Love my Pats, although I'm only a bit over 33" @ 295/70/17 so a punk to you 37/38 guys lol.
They have been wearing even & are quiet for the fairly aggressive tread, having a lot of tread contact in the center of the contact patch seems to help quite a bit w/ the overall volume. And FWIW the tire tech that mounted mine said he has rarely seen a 4x4 tire of that size that req'd such little balancing weights. Very smooth once you get rolling.

And with the raised Patagonia "stone-age" lettering they look pretty damn cool too!

I have had both. The Patagonia and MXT are awesome tires.

Patagonia: lightweight, quiet/smooth on road, doe well off road. Sort of float on top of mud and deep snow. Keep going but not the most sure footed. Decent in winter conditions.

MXT: lightweight, quiet/smooth on road, look better than Patagonia, stink in winter, much more sure footed in mud/deep snow. Clear out nicely.

I can agree that they are not as sure footed as my Subaru with winter tires, but I did not think they were bad in snow.

Better than the BFG all terrains in my opinion.

Great thanks, so seems like you can't go wrong with either one

Being that you are in FL that is true. No wintery roads to deal with so they are pretty even.

If you like to float on mud go Patagonia, if you like to pull through it go MXT, if you don't play in the mud flip a coin lol.

No personal experience with either tires. I read in offroad they are not rock crawlers like Patagonia's and have only a 2 ply sidewall.

Yeah your links both claim to review 37" Load Range D's, so that is apples to apples (that's good!)

My 38's claim to be a Load Range C so maybe they're also just 2 ply construction

OP started the thread asking about 37's so sourdough's links are on point

I guess MY point to shoppers is be aware different sizes may have different load ratings, and that may affect how the tire is constructed underneath all those pretty lugs

I've only owned sports cars to this point so not sure what floating versus pulling through the mud is but I'd like to find out? Haha

The Milestars tend to show up in 4s waiting on a 5th lol
Better than the one showing up and waiting on the four however :)
