Anyone try the Maximus-3 Winch Plate with the Quadratec Stealth 12i winch? Which size filler plates? Pretty much decided on that winch, now I need to find a plate that's relatively easy to install and can handle 12,000 lbs.

TIA

Our Maximus-3 JL Winch Plate is more than strong enough to handle 12K winches, no problem.
We have confirmed fitment of the following: Zeon 12S, VR12S, and their 10K variants. Also we have confirmed the Quad Stealth 10 fits too. There is an extremely high chance of your Quad Stealth 12 fitting.

Have you been able to verify if a Warn 9.5 CTI-s will work?

We do not have personal experience fitting the 9.5CTI. One install-shop reported that it did not fit, but they didn't explain why.
Our educated guess is that fitting a 9.5CTI may require modification: trimming the bumper and/or drilling new holes in the winch plate.

Don't waste your time with these bozos. I am furious. I lost an entire install day due to their inability to send me the correct parts.

I am NOT going to take a grinder to parts because of shit engineering and poor parts management.

Now it's RMA hell. Of course, it's Saturday, and I work for a living, so not holding out much hope of getting my money back in full. Adding insult to injury, I have to now pay shipping costs on top of their screw up and my lost time.

Unless they want to reimburse me for my hourly rate, I can't ever see myself using these guys again.

Why do I need to play the UPS do-see-do with these jokers to get it right? I don't have that kind of time and in this day and age, I shouldn't have to.

BTW - their install video link is dead and the pics in the instructions are difficult to see, although the install is pretty straightforward.

Hello Mark,

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with our winch plate. Did you call Maximus-3 directly at 248-821-6654? Because we may have been able to talk you through the install or make things right.

I spoke to all my guys and no one recalls any correspondence with you on this issue. Maximus-3 did not receive a call from you on this issue, and we did not say the things you are claiming.

Our policy is to always do our best to resolve any issues. In the rare instance that we make a mistake, we take care of all shipping costs and we replace or refund the goods.

If the part is truly out-of-spec we:
* offer a replacement - at no cost
* offer a refund.

What you are claiming goes against our standard operating procedures. We have never charged a customer for our mistake, we bend over backwards for our customers.

Yep, called. Went straight to voicemail.

You do see the photos, don't you? How would you "talk me through this install"?

Post your answer here for all to see. I cannot see how your plate fits into that space. The photos are in hi-res. And in looking at the instructions and your web page one more time, it doesn't look like the same part in your photos.

I invite you to "fix it", but I sincerely doubt you can get me my part today, which is the only free time I have over the next few weeks for this project.

I have requested an RMA both via email and voicemail.

How are you going to "make it right?"

Upon further investigation we clearly see the issue with the winch plate. It turns out to be an ultra-rare manufacturing issue. We have manufactured thousands of winch plates and this is the second time this has ever happened.

Our sincerest apologies, we feel terrible that this fluke happened to you.

I have issued a full refund, we don't even need to return the part.
Also we are expedited shipping a replacement winch plate for free.

Our mistake, but for the record we didn't say you'd have to "pay shipping" nor did we play games or make you jump through hoops.

UPDATE: now that my blood pressure has dropped about 50 points, I can say that Maximus-3 did process my refund promptly as promised. As I said, I was just reacting to their "Returns Policy" on their website. I have no doubt after this exercise that they would really try to work hard with their customers.

One of the most appealing things about Jeep is the abundance of aftermarket parts and mods for our vehicles. It's usually small companies that put a lot of innovation into their kits. I really do hope that folks like Maximus-3 improve and stay around coming up with new ideas. I have parts from Rock Slide Engineering, Quadratec, Hothead Headliners, Mishimoto, Topsy hinge hoist brackets, even some no-name brackets from Amazon, the list goes on...

This could have been a one-off fluke, but a nice Illustrated Parts Breakdown in the instructions would have helped me identify that the part received wasn't correct. I always inventory my parts days before an install (past experience.) The thing looked "correct" in the B&W pics on the instructions sheet, but later when I examined their website again, the part was not a match. Six-sigma is no joke!

Okay, wow. I really appreciate your prompt response, don't know why my email or voicemail didn't get through.

I was just reacting to what your website has published as "Return Policy" and required RMA.

Thanks for your response on this site.

@Maximus-3 since you are an active poster here I was hoping you could answer a general question I have about winch plates.

The OEM steel bumper is made of very thin (1/16th?) steel and is not bolted directly to the frame. It is bolted to internal brackets using a handful of small bolts and clip nuts, the brackets themselves being held on by the recovery hooks.

So I was wondering if you could talk about winch plates that tie the fairlead to the winch plate (Warn, Rock Hard), and those that do not (yours, Artec, and most everyone else).

Sometimes we get turned sideways on steep trails and side pulls are needed to get straightened out. Is the bumper capable of handling this load without the fairlead being reinforced by the winch plate?
