I take that back, apparently my suitcase scale is rated for 110lbs. So I'll catch the tire weight as well.

Impressive for 38's really. Thank you!
Agreed. @TJEli 's 38" MTs are only about 10 lbs more than my 35" ATs

If you feel up to it and when ever you can, weight them with and without tire and post back with pics. I'm watching this thread :)
I weighed my spare today, a 351/70 R17 C-rated KO2, and it came to 97 lbs.
The bare wheel without wheel weights or even a valve comes to 30.2lbs according to my suitcase scale.

Damn fine looking wheel though. Now for tires and some Energy Suspension bumpers to hold the spare in place. No idea when AEV will let me send them my money, but once they have their rear bumper and wheel carrier out I'll be set.

Tires will hopefully be in this weekend. Then we see if I made a mistake. Will I hate the added weight? :movember::computerrage:

Thanks for weighing them. Your 30.2 lbs jives with the 30.4 lbs (IIRC) I got on my bathroom scale, when I weighted them at arrival.
I don't think you'll hate the added weight, especially if you had a JK.

Posted these in other threads and not this one? Terrible.

You were right Keith, I didn't notice the weight much which shocked me. It made such a dramatic difference in the LJ. The Milestar Patagonia M/T LT315/70-R17 tires came in at 68.7 lbs using the same scale.

Still waiting on my spare tire to come in and I will have to go see if I need a bit more bump stop before I go wheeling.

My small-ish 315/70 KO2s rubbed, slighty, in the rear with about 90% flex. All my experienced jeep friends said I could get away with a 1" bump stop extension

That's what I was thinking... then I looked closer at your picture. Did you change wheels again or is that the set you had before the 701's? Mopar. Almost got those as well.

The were the Mopar bead lock capable wheels. In that pic, I had removed the rings due to a pending sale. They looked good but I didn't want to be a poser, it's just not 'my' thing. However, they were heavy AF. Without the rings and bolts, which themselves were very heavy, the wheels were like 37-38 lbs. Also they were only 8" wide, which would limit any future tire size changes.

Yeah they can be made to be real bead locks but too heavy for how little I'd spend at 5psi.

The Methods seem to be working out just fine. :whew:

This guy tested down to 5 psi on his truck, launching and landing in a sand dune and moderate rock crawling... no leaks or loss of bead... pretty impressive

Love this! Ordering 701s and 35" Patagonia MT's this week. My eyes say bronze, but my gut is telling me black 701s for my Sting Gray Rubi

Be bold.

Be bold.

:like:
Exactly! Be bold! I went safe with colors and often regret it. (I pussed out on Mojito, Punkn', the bronze 701s). I'm not saying you should go off "your" deep end but you, @Bandana , did say your eyes linked the bronze.
