Hey all,
Wanted to share a little project I've been working on.
I had an interior windshield mounted POV light that I've been using for the past year when responding to our station for alarms. It sucks for a number of reasons and I decided that it was time to invest in a grill mounted setup.
Several searches on the forums and the rest of the web turned up very little, so I decided I would give it a shot myself. I have a 19 JL Sahara with the tow package, so I knew the wiring aspect of it would be pretty easy.
The creation of the grill mount took a few iterations, but I'm quite happy with the end result:
No drilling; used existing holes on the top and custom brackets to grip the bottom beam for support.
Spray painted everything black and concealed wiring behind construction to keep it low profile when not in use.
Video:
Wired up to Aux 3 button in a few minutes. Jeep really makes it too easy...
Thinking about placement for the additional 2 Xprite lights I have, but I don't want to go overboard. Open to suggestions.
Parts used:
Xprite White & Blue LEDs https://amzn.to/2Z2lPWY
Xprite light brackets https://amzn.to/2Z3EqCg
2x 10" Brace https://amzn.to/31RVeZU
And a bunch of other junk that I had in my garage/got from Lowes
