Soft Top Cleaning

Hey guys, first jeep, first soft top, first convertible. Question, do you guys use anything fancy to clean the soft top fabric? or just regular old soap and water with a sponge? What about the vinyl windows? Let me know, thanks!

I use a horse hair pool table brush to clean the fabric. Keep it away from the windows. Probably don’t need horse hair but I had one at the house.

I use Chemical Bros Waterless Car Wash. Cleans and protects exterior, windows, interior, wheels you name it
with no water.

That’s not my takeaway. Majority replied that Novus 3 step is the best option for the windows, and 303 Fabric for the top (and stern warnings not to get 303 overspray on the windows).

For simple cleaning, just wash it with car soap or go through a touchless carwash.

have 3 convertibles with twill tops, use soft brush and clean top first with fresh soap and water when washing the car.

a couple times a year use 303 fabric guard to treat the top, will water proof and protect the twill.

use 303 protectant on all the gaskets/seals, keep them clean. Megs #9 is also good for seals.

Plexus on the windows - and on the headlights. I've used for years, sold a 9 year old Mazda and the headlights were as clear as the day they left the dealer. I wrote to Plexus and asked about Jeep windows and they said it was excellent on them, well, I tried and have to agree. I think the best deal is off Amazon or if you can find a boating supply store, a lot of them carry it.

303 Fabric Guard and Marine Fabric Guard are often recommended in the forum for use on twill soft tops, but is it also safe for black diamond?
