We're out in the dirt a couple of times a week. Our mats get filthy with dust, dirt and ground up granite particles. When cleaning the Jeep, the mats come out and are hit with a hose or pressure washer. The carpeting is vacuumed clean. The hose is never going into the cab of the Jeep with carpeting on the floor ... doesn't make sense. The mats don't seal that well at the floor pan - jeepinformant even offered some calking strips to ensure they wouldn't leak. It the mats go in and out the opportunity for leakage is greatly increased. Thus, the modification ... your mileage may vary!
