They are the Mopar beadlocks, had them powdercoated bronze. Not sure of the exact color ... the powdercoat shop said they had a great matte bronze color they used with some other wheels. He showed me a pic and I thought it looked great, so went with it.

Very happy with how the wheels turned out.
is there a concern powder coating wheels? on AEVs site they recommend painting the wheels instead of powder coating due to the heat treat process and the potential of making them weaker. is that just the AEV process that makes it an issue for them, or for all aluminum wheels I wonder? I really like how yours came out.

Good question. My internet education of the topic yielded a mix bag of responses. Some say no problem, been doing it for years, others say don't do it. I looked on some car racing forums to gauge their thoughts and it also seemed to be a mixed bag of answers. The powdercoater didn't have an issue doing it, but it's money for them, so take that for what it's worth.

The safe answer is don't do it. I am trying it and will see how it goes. I will make it a point to check the wheels periodically to see how they are holding up.

Hope to have these installed in a few days. Going to mount 315/70r17 Copper STT Pros on them.

Any updated pics? I’ve got the Mopar wheels and really want to go bronze...just having a hard time justifying another $600 to refinish. Would love to see some pics!

It's really a shame AEV isn't offering Spent Brass as a color option anymore.

You can get the JK Borah's in spent brass still right? I was looking at them the other day.

Yeah, but then the spare won't fit over the camera. The offset is 12mm vs 25mm also, though I think 12mm may be better.

The JK version is +4mm offset for the Borah. Also, I have found a few people who were able to get the wheels,to,fit the backup camera. It just takes a little sanding at the base where the flare is before it seats. Does not take much at all to make it fit. I am not sure I will do that yet, but does seem like an option. The more I look at the Fuel Rebel D681 in bronze the more I like them. They come in a +1mm (5" backspace) version and a -12mm (4.5" backspace) so you can choose how far they stick out. They are not beadlocks, but look pretty good and are lighter.

Those look amazing ! Like really, really good. What color exactly were those painted? Also, how well did the combo balance?

Thanks. Just called the powdercoater, he said the color is called Triple Bronze by Prismatic Powders.

They balanced fine, did not need an obscene amount of weights.
