Welcome to the forum Nelson. I'm in the Tar Heel state also. The Uhwarrie National Forrest is a good place to start. There are trails there that go from "well that was easy" to "Oh hell, I'm gonna die". :) The Uhwarrie web site has a lot of info to get you started. And, at 5 bucks for a day pass...you have a million dollars worth of fun. Enjoy.

PS, you will get that beauty filthy. But, it's the most fun I've ever had with my cloths on.

And, if you ever need help, or have questions there are a lot of good NC folks right here.

We tried Uwharrie Sunday, with son in law as our guide. Grandkids along for the ride. Made our way over every trail but those beginning with D. Lol. This Rubicon jeep is a blast to operate. Addiction has begun

That’s awesome to hear! I’m in NC and have ordered my Jeep... hoping to take my kids to Uwharrie and start on the small stuff and work my up, as well.

Glad you’re enjoying your new addiction!

EDIT: initially spelled “Uwharrie” incorrectly

There's a Jeep event at the Outer Banks later in Sept - any NC Jeepers going? Me? maybe - depends on work.

Nelson, I see the state registered your Jeep as truck with a weighted tag. I live in NC also, and mine was registered as a passenger vehicle. I was just wondering what would be the difference.

BTW, I do like the wheels, and tires.

I had a 1 ton truck, license office transferred tag, lowered weight. Was their decision
