Had the issue, called the dealer. Heard same story we've read in this forum. Yesterday we go back and talk to service manager.

There is now a software update to stop the warm air blowing every so often with the AC on. Loaded it yesterday, hope it works.
Where was the warm air coming from?

Ive been meaning to post about this. I was driving with AC blowing and suddenly warm/hot air started blowing below (feet/legs). I didnt even have those vents operating, just the upper body vents were operating. AC was set to "LO" ....I put the air hot and cold, turn it off and on and finally it started working correctly again.

Hasnt happened again. Not sure if I should take to dealer or not.

Took my Jeep in for service yesterday, and explained the warm air problem to the service manager and gave him the TSB that the service director gave me a couple days ago. When I came back after the service was completed, he said they hooked the Jeep up to the computer and it indicated that the software was previously updated. I explained that we were still having the problem, and we had never brought it in for service before. So if the software wasn't the issue, what was? He said it was operating as designed and there was nothing else they could do. I then spoke with the service director, and long story short, we went back to the service bay so the mechanic could show me exactly what they did. The screen indeed showed no update necessary. The mechanic figured out how to force the update, just to make sure there were no glitches.

Today, after about a half hour driving the warm air started blowing again.

I wonder if Jeep Cares?
Hi jespey,
I have added this additional concern to the case I escalated for you this morning. Please let me know if you need anything further!

Thanks. Being new to this forum, what does this mean exactly? Will this help solve the problems Iā€™ve been experiencing? Has anyone following this thread had any experience with the Jeep Cares solutions?

Iā€™m only experiencing a/c hot air when the ess turns the engine off while stopped. If I disable the ess it seems to not be an issue. Has anyone else noticed the hot air issue when ess turns engine off?

That's normal, the compressor is driven by the engine. This is a completely different issue.

Hi jespey,
A case escalation connects you with a case specialist who will work with you and the dealer to assist in identifying the best course of action to address your concerns. Your case specialist will also act as a liaison between you and your dealer; adding an extra layer of communication. I hope this provides some clarification!

Well, I got the call from Jeep Cares. I told them the fix didnā€™t work, I still had the issue. They said I could take it to another dealer. I asked what if that dealer canā€™t fix it (remember the software ā€œfixā€ fixed nothing, even though it was applied to my Jeep) and Jeep Cares said thereā€™s nothing else they could do.

Jeep, please drain your swamp and stop spending money on an operation that does nothing. Instead, you could redirect this money into actually fixing the problems. Essentially the same reply was given to me for squeaky brakes. Apparently those ā€œare operating as designedā€ also.

Does it happen when the Auto Start/Stop activates at a red light? I think that it will blow warm air when the engine is turned off.

Yes, mine does the same thing when the engine turns off with ESS.

No. Happens while driving. ESS kicks back on real quickly when a/c is running because the compressor only runs when the engine is running. Fan slows down and the latent cool air continues blowing but engine restarts usually before the fan blows the warm air.

Have this happen regularly, Iā€™d say itā€™s on a timer to do it. Driving along (long trip interstate driving) with ac going good then all of the sudden you can feel super humid warmer air work up from under the dash. Lasts just long enough to tick you off then back to regular ac for a bit. Seems like itā€™s most noticeable on high humidity days.

Why didn't my contact at Jeep Cares "work alongside your dealer to find a potential solution" ? All they said was take it to another dealer. Is that the idea of working to find a solution?

Hi jespey,
Your case manager is still actively working your case. The first dealer you visited was unable to duplicate your concern, which unfortunately is most times necessary in order for your dealer to identify the proper repair process. We recommend connecting with your case specialist.

For the record, over on the Ram forums we've noticed the following on the 2019 1500s: When the A/C is set to recirculate for an extended period of time, every 15 minutes and 10 seconds, the "fresh-air-door" opens for exactly 50 seconds, and then closes. Dozens of us have noticed it, I was on a 5 hour road trip when I got out the stopwatch and timed it. It is perfectly repeatable.

The folks over at Ramcares also have no clue if it is intentional or not, but it sure seems it.
