There’s been this discussion about selec-trac on export Rubicons many times on here. i’m in the UK and have a RHD JLUR. We get the 4 hi auto/selec-trac and the 4:1 rock-trac transfer case and yes that means we get the CV joints too. As I understand it all export Rubicons get this set up.
I took a look at a Moab yesterday with the CV joints and SelecTrac. The CV joints look beefy. Moreso than I expected.

My teraflex 2.5 sport lift ,with 3.3 falcon adjustable shocks cost $3700 (not fitted)$4600 sounds steep as the mopar lift as far as i can tell dosnt include castor correction arms , From most reviews the mopar lift gives a nice ride, fox shocks are apparently valved the same as the stock shocks .Have you tried any of the Australian jeep aftremarket suppliers?
Thanks for that. I’m yet to shop around.

Hi Guys, Can’t say how thrilled I am knowing that I’m getting my Rubicon delivered this week. I had it pre-ordered early January at Knox Jeep in Melbourne. Looks like mine would be the first Rubicon out of their showroom. Went into the showroom today & had a look at my Black Rubicon in their yard. Worth noting that I would be a first time Jeep owner, I drive a Range Rover Evoque (that I’m trading in).

Hi jjames , I am going from a Landrover Discovery 3 to my hopefully soon to be jlu rubicon. Are you adjusting to the change? At least there is heaps of parts out there for the wrangler, and having strong solid axles will help off road ability annd strength, my discovery kept breaking cvs ,this is one of the reasons im swapping.

The change is massive for me, the noise in the cabin especially. I’m planning to change the tyres to an AT since I have felt that most of the cabin noise is originating from those muddies. On the plus side, I can now join my mates for off-roading (I never dared take my RR Evoque anywhere near off-road conditions).

My dealer contacted me and confirmed that the delivery dates of my JLR petrol will be on the 2nd week of August for my February order. Don't have a VIN number yet.

Hey Buddy, without a doubt the best dealership of the few i checked out was Penrith. I was hoping to buy at castle hill as i work in castle hill but they are useless, dont want to work with you at all and retail price is the lowest they will go.

I been dealing with the Jeep sales manager David and he has so far been super awesome. Great price and everything as well. He actually informed me that i'll be receiving the very first Rubicon from them as well =)

If you are wanting the petrol Rubicon then tell him you want the same spec as my car (Jaydee) but in what ever colour you want. Might save you having to negotiate a good price if you say you just want the same as mine. (I also have leather seats and electrical package with the Aux buttons, bigger battery and alternator)
Hi Jade,

I placed the order at Penrith, estimated deliver date is 31/12...

Nice Hugh! It may seem like a long wait... and it is hahah.. But hey thats not terrible considering our wait has been roughly 6 months if its on track for early august delivery.. Fingers crossed..

That said, a friends dad waited well over a year to get the first current shape mustang and another friend waited over 18 months for a Nissan GTR R35 from deposit date...

Did a few minor changes & upgrades on my Rubicon: Took off the ugly fender gap filler, put in a custom (DYI) red carpet & tints. Taking off the fender gap filler was easy done, just 4 nuts & off it went.

So i bought new tyres the other week as Im not a fan of having the 32" KM2's on.. The Americans in this forum will laugh at this, but to keep the car legal for at least the first 12 months in terms of tyre size until i decide what rims and all I want to run and go 35s, I bought some Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 295/70/17 which puts them at around 33.3" and while not exactly huge.. it will be a bit nicer on fuel on those high way runs i always do for now.. and they should hopefully look a bit tougher than stock.

And for those curious on how they look next to other cars hahaha.. Here are some pics next to a Lamborghini Huracan Performante and a Audi R8, Plus also a comparison shot next to standard wheels off a 2009 Subaru Forester XT. So while, 33" sounds small in the grand scheme of things, They should be bigger than most legal tyres in Australia at least.

Tyre size difference next to standard VW Caddy wheels is jsut comical
