Climbed Castle Peak near Truckee CA with the puppy during my much needed four days off. On the way down we ran into another Vizsla coming up the trail. Got to talking to the owners, turns out she was from the same litter as my pup! How freek'n cool is that!?!

Cute dog! We’ve done Castle Peak on snowshoes, such a pretty trail.

Cool! I did it from the snow park. Went out and up the Pacific Crest Trail and back. Was just over 12 miles. That last 200 - 300 yards is so steep!
Really want to move to Truckee. Love the area in the summer. Winter is epic.

Dipped our toes in the eastern few miles of the Rubicon Trail, turning north toward Ellis Peak. Also a few miles of Gold Lake OHV trails. Drove as far as we could on both trails until the snow drifts got too big around 7,000 ft.
Broke in my 4.5" lift and even used my new rear air locker climbing a 4 ft shelf/waterfall. We're planning on going back at least one more time this summer, hopefully after even more of the snow melts, and stay at the secluded 4x4-only campground we found at Gold Lake.
